I lived in Japan almost 15yrs. Military, some Uni, then AT&T, EDS & SunMicro. Protests like these used to be rare, like from hard-right, Black Bus groups. Being an Expat in Tokyo, living with and speaking with folks was such a privilege; the experience made me who I am. Japan was 98.5% homogenous then. Everything worked. One time I lost my wallet in Akiahabra, with my bonus cash, about $4K? It was returned to me at a local Police Box. Unbelievable high trust, heavenly. Crime was rare. For a brief moment, visa restrictions were lifted. Soon, a small minority was selling pirated telephone cards in Ueno. That went away when visas were stopped. The world doesn't want a hard-right Japan. They have more plutonium than most any country worldwide, and they are f'ing fantastic at making things both beautiful & small. If their foreign policy shifted to Assertive Mode:/ON, they would clean house all across Asia. Here's hoping they would be on our side, as they view human life a little differently - nor are they afraid to call out the obvious. Always Forward.
