@GreenTextRepost @ShadyIndividu4l Over the entire span of TWD series. Not once do they encounter intense storms or hurricanes, even when the series spans 13y of in-universe time. Despite being in a hurricane prone region for the first 5 seasons. So yeah <6~9mo & most of US is safe again. Easy.

@GreenTextRepost @ShadyIndividu4l No matter when the infection starts, at any given point in time, the mass is within 6mo of a rapid atmospheric temperature shift. Spring? 3mo to summer. Fall? 3mo to winter. Winter? 6mo to summer. Summer? 6mo to winter.

@Dad_Presents It's not completely that. A lot of dislike stems from his actions with USAID and DOGE. Whatever his philosophy or beliefs that drove it, he made a lot of political enemies in the process. That dislike now compounds everything else.

This whole Elon “trillionaire” conversation is depressing because it reveals how economically illiterate we are. A $1 trillion net worth does not mean Elon walked into a village, stole everyone’s bread, and locked it in a vault. In fact, he probably consumes fewer real-world resources than the average Hollywood climate activist screaming about him from a private jet-adjacent lifestyle. Elon built things people voluntarily use, and invested in companies that created massive value to billions of people. The collective quality of life of society has been elevated by this man’s work. He didn’t get handed a trillion dollars and start hoarding all the food, houses, and medicine. Elon is a contributor. Not a taker. Probably the biggest one alive. Which is why he’s worth $1 trillion and the people who don’t understand that are still yelling “fair share” into their iPhones.

@rohanpaul_ai Well, can they even truly understand if to actually understand forward, the model has to be retrained in full for that one specific factor as opposed to simply adapting to new information and persisting it forward for all interactions?

Researchers found our current approach to making AI smarter over time has a giant blind spot. AI is not actually understanding or applying high-level abstract lessons at all. Developers spend massive amounts of time building systems that condense past AI mistakes into neat little rules for the future. This paper proves that the AI essentially throws those rules in the trash and only looks at raw historical logs. Modern LLM systems try to get better over time by storing past tasks as either raw step-by-step histories or condensed summary rules. The study tested if these agents actually use their stored memories by secretly swapping the correct tips with random garbage text. - When the step-by-step histories were messed up, the AI failed hard, proving it heavily relies on copying exact past actions. - But when researchers completely corrupted the condensed summary rules, the AI kept acting normally and showed zero performance drop. If an AI cannot apply an abstract lesson to a new situation, it is not truly reasoning or learning. This raises the question if the entire AI industry need to rethink how memory works because right now these agents are just mimicking instead of understanding. ---- arxiv. org/abs/2601.22436 "LLM Agents Are Not Always Faithful Self-Evolvers"

@thruthewave @TwistedMcGee @mehdirhasan NASA paid Boeing and SpaceX for crew orbit to ISS. SpaceX succeeded, Boeing fumbled, & NASA had to keep extending contract to SpaceX for assured access. So, per your logic, NASA should also be dismantled, because they directly contributed to SpaceX becoming a Tn$ company right?

“Bernie, your socialism would never allow a SpaceX to be built.” Hey Bill, who got man to the moon? Was it the government or the private sector?
Bill Ackman@BillAckman

.@BernieSanders , it is a time to celebrate. @elonmusk has created enormous value for society by building @SpaceX, driving down the cost of rocket launches and creating a global satellite communication network that has brought high speed, low-cost internet and communication access to hundreds of millions and eventually billions of people along with critical advantages for our military and our nation’s defense. SpaceX and its technologies will cause an acceleration in the growth of wages and wealth creation globally, including in some of the poorest communities in the U.S. and around the world. Access to low-cost, high speed communications everywhere will allow children around the world to be educated, families to build businesses, and life-saving medical knowledge and care to be available everywhere. SpaceX will materially bring down the cost of compute, advancing AI and humanity. Meanwhile, 4,000 SpaceX employees yesterday became millionaires, including hourly wage employees who you claim you are trying to help. The Elon Musks of the world drive growth, global GDP, and provide access to goods and services at lower cost that would otherwise not exist. Elon’s nominal trillionaire status is due to his ownership of SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, the Boring Company and his other initiatives that have brought new technologies that improve our everyday lives. Elon is not sitting on a trillion dollar pile of cash, jewelry and gold. He is using his controlling stakes in his companies to advance mankind. Elon’s companies don’t pay dividends. They reinvest all of their capital to accelerate innovation and value creation. Elon is working 24/7 for all of us. He deserves respect and appreciation, not smears. Bernie, your socialism would never allow a SpaceX to be built. Socialism has only proven to impoverish mankind and lead to death and destruction. We need to create the conditions for more SpaceXs to be built, not attack the great entrepreneurs who are helping to advance our country.

@Meer_AIIT Taking that one step further, it's whoever can successfully achieve a training to model pipeline which can run independent of human intervention beyond system contributions, and having the last gen model figure out how incorporate it to evolve itself. Ie: natural evolution.

Interesting Article from Satya: Satya Nadella says the company that wins the AI era won’t be the one with the best model. it’ll be the one that owns its learning loop. his argument: every firm now runs on two kinds of capital. > human capital, the judgment and pattern recognition of its people. > and token capital, the AI capability it builds and owns. The two compound on each other. the risk he’s warning about is a world where a few models absorb everyone’s expertise and commoditize it hollowing out whole industries the way outsourcing once did. his fix is building a learning system you control one where you can swap out a generic model without losing the company knowledge baked into it. a frontier model isn’t enough. he wants a frontier ecosystem.
