Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, was over 80% Christian under Israeli control. In 1995, the Palestinian Authority took over. After 30 years, Bethlehem is now less than 10% Christian. This is what ethnic cleansing looks like.

As a current journalism grad student, I am absolutely disgusted by @AlexCrawfordSky persistent disregard for even the most basic standards of ethical reporting. First off, @HonestReporting didn't CLAIM you "never said they had no Hezbollah affiliation." They criticized you for claiming @IDF "has offered no evidence" of #Hezbollah affiliation (pic 1). This is a point you have REPEATEDLY emphasized in your reporting on this attack (eg pics 2 & 3). And it is true you have "reported the widespread assertion this connection transgressed int law as they were journos NOT combatants." But you have NOT questioned THAT assertion or pointed out various Lebanese officials or groups like @hrw have THEMSELVES provided "no evidence" the deceased "journalists" are NOT militants (there are no "combatants" in noninternational armed conflict btw). Furthermore, as @AdamZivo @nationalpost has also pointed out in another QT to this same post, "By downplaying this association, and not acknowledging, for example, the plethora of Hezbollah flags at the funeral, you misled your audience (unintentionally or not)." Agreed. Not once have you connected the context you insist on reporting - that @Israel has provided "no evidence" of Hez affiliation - to the evidence right in front of your face, which your entire audience can see for ourselves, that the "journalists" WERE, in fact, Hezbollah members. Nor have you pointed out when doing so that belligerents have no obligation to provide "evidence" that a target was a civilian taking direct part in hostilities (pic 4 for DPH standard) in the first place. The net effect of all this #journalisticmalpractice is that you're going out of your way to spin anti-Israel, pro-terrorist sentiment in your reporting - all the while claiming what you're doing is "news." It's not. It's sheer propaganda. And as an emerging journalist, it absolutely disgusts me that anyone would regard what you're spinning as "journalism" when that's what I am also being trained to do. As I'm figuring out how to be a journalist, your work is a textbook example of what NOT to do. And for anyone looking for "the very essence of dishonest reporting," if they're looking at your work there's a pretty good chance they've found it.

This strategy often involves shifting the focus of the conflict that Hamas started when they invaded Israel on the 7th of October 2023 from a regional security issue to a humanitarian and moral crisis, thereby aiming to delegitimize Israel in the eyes of Western public opinion and governments. He claims to be a sports “Journalist” very innocent right ? But when and how did he become a ‘Journalist’ ? There was no free press in Gaza, no political reporting, no social reporting, no sports or entertainment reporting. No science reporting, no local development reporting, no criminal and justice reporting… All you hear him spew is crap about Israel, how “Palestinians” are the “victims”, and glory to the “Resistance” ! But he means the Islamic “Resistance” i.e., Hamas. And their ultimate goal is to get rid of the Jews, to get rid of Israel as the Jewish homeland, and establish an Islamic state governed according to Islamic law and use it as a precursor to destroy the west & western civilisation, and the adoption of the “Palestinian” cause has distorted everything. @AbubakerAbedW is clever at seeming to be neutral in his reporting from Gaza. He covered all the hostage release ceremonies and comfortably walked among Hamas terrorists. Here he calls Israel proper the “Occupied Palestinian Territories”. We know what he is ! And we know why he is here ! He is Hamas !!!

Brilliant. Say you’re a journalist and it’s a “war crime” to kill you, even if you “work for an enemy organisation”. So says the BBC’s World Affairs Editor. It’s not what the Geneva Conventions say, but who cares? In John’s world even if you work for Hizballah and are buried in a Hizballah-flag-draped coffin (as happened here), killing you is a war-crime. Britain’s national broadcaster has become a national embarrassment. For those interested in what the Geneva Conventions say, have a read of what is known as Protocol I, adopted on 8th June 1977 as an addition to the Geneva Conventions of 12th August 1949. At article 79.2 it states that journalists are protected so long as they “take no action adversely affecting their status as civilians” and at article 51.3 it states more generally that “Civilians shall enjoy the protection afforded by this Section, unless and for such time as they take a direct part in hostilities.” John’s is not giving us analysis, he’s trotting out propaganda. Who’d have imagined it, from the man who days ago was telling us what a soft spot he had for the IRGC’s Ali Larijani? John also seems to have had “a sneaking kind of liking” for Saddam Hussein, found Colonel Gaddafi “quite pleasant”, and Bashar Al Assad didn’t really mean it, he was just “anxious to please”. The BBC’s new Director General, Matt Brittin, really has his work cut out.

The Geneva Convention says it’s a war crime to target journalists, even if they work for an enemy organisation. It’s also a war crime to target medical workers. After the killing of 3 Lebanese TV journos last week, several medics coming to help them were killed as well.
