Best tips on maximizing sleep with a newborn? I’m thinking of getting a mattress pad and just laying in her room since she loves her crib. That way I have a shorter distance to respond. Anyone have anything else that might help?

They took away our doormats today. My husband went to med school and I went to law school, only to live in a place that won't let you wipe your feet before you enter your residence. Fire code does not prohibit doormats in our area. I hate it here 😭

@Degen_CPA My thoughts on this matter are people with high IQ's are able to find a way to be happy. Likely much happier than those of low IQ. How they do this may vary considerably depending on the IQ and unique gifts such people have. Whatever they do, you may not notice them.

i dont see how people with high IQs fit in with society. The game youre playing is dumbed down to talk about sports ball with your fat co-workers, there is no substance, no depth. the truly smart among us would want no part of this

I had a roommate in college who CONSTANTLY thought everyone was staring at her (in a way like they were wowed by her) and that every man she encountered was checking her out. she wasn’t unattractive, just totally average looking. this phenomenon should be studied.

I’m a physician, and I would literally do anything to avoid being on a prescription drug. My nightmare is to have to show up at the pharmacy every month and pick up drugs. Absolute last resort only. Will exhaust every other possibility before that happens.

Quite recently had an unplanned free birth because on the day, we realised the midwives were legally unable to attend because of a dating mistake. Birth went beautifully. No medical follow up for me or baby because we were suddenly off the books for the midwives! And because there was no obvious need, we preferred to just be cosy at home. Ain’t nobody got time to trek out to be shunted around at a hospital for no good reason, on your sixth baby. Slightly jaundiced? Cleared up on its own. Gummy eye a few days later? Cleared up on its own. Herniated belly button a few weeks later? Clearing up on its own. I am just submitting this to add to your reservoir of anecdotes about normal birth.

Dealing with death threat guy and he writes me a nasty response and tells me that he's going to report me and get a citizen's review board to investigate me. Then ends the message and says "FORWARD THAT TO YOUR OWN LAWYER." That was after I gave him another chance, a final warning, before I have to whack him again. I didn't have to do that, give him another chance I mean, and I shouldn't have to think about this as I try to relax tonight. Very frustrating. Hate dealing with this type of stuff on top of everything else.

It's insane to me to even consider buying in this area. Our friends just bought a four bedroom with a nice big yard for 1.7M, it's nice but it needs a lot of renovation including irrigation and installation of AC, as well as lead remediation
