Mit dem Ende der monatelangen Blockade aus Budapest konnten wir uns im Rat auf Sanktionen gegen gewalttätige israelische Siedler und weitere Sanktionen gegen die Hamas einigen. Oberstes Ziel bleibt eine Zweistaatenlösung, in der Israelis und Palästinenser in Frieden und Sicherheit leben können. Genau deshalb braucht es Druck auf all jene, die diese Perspektive weiter zerstören. Die Siedlergewalt und der Ausbau illegaler Siedlungen waren auch in unseren Gesprächen mit Israel ein Thema. Gleichzeitig sanktionieren wir weitere führende Hamas-Mitglieder. Die Hamas muss entwaffnet werden und darf keine Rolle in der Zukunft der Region spielen.

I just had a phone call with my Omani counterpart @BadrAlbusaidi. We discussed the current developments in the Middle East and Oman’s important role as a mediator. The war in the region directly affects Austria as well. That is why we must use every diplomatic avenue to bring it to an end quickly and keep the Strait of Hormuz open. There can only be a diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear program as well. Austria supports all diplomatic efforts that could lead to a new agreement with @iaeaorg.

Freedom of navigation through the #StraitofHormuz is a cornerstone of global security and prosperity. Deputy Foreign Minister @MFA_Austria H.E. Mr. Nikolaus Marschik joined around 100 countries led by @BahrainMsnNY to condemn the closure and demand its swift opening. 🇦🇹🇧🇭🇺🇳

Just spoke with Prime Minister @CMShehbaz of Pakistan. I congratulated him on his efforts in facilitating the ceasefire between Iran and the United States. I assured him of Austria’s full support for a diplomatic solution to end the war. Freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law must be ensured.
