Congrat to Bam! Notice how toxic NBA discourse is? A theory: NBA promotes stars over teams. Fans get attached to stars becoming stans. Stans care more about the legacy of their attachments than the game. Discourse devolves into protecting legacies vs celebrating the game.

@p_emory appreciate it & i agree. I want to have a fan base that genuinely celebrates cool moments like Bam’s w/o whining - every league has issues but we got the leading scorer still balling at 41, the best shooter still playing, KD, Kahwi, Wemby, Brunson, Joker, SGA, Brunson, & parity!

@dj_b_plus i know a diehard LBJ = 🐐 fan. I offered a similar take and he took it as an LBJ slight. I shared MJ clip- no response. I know more nostalgic NBA fans who resent the current the game an enjoy crappin on the present than i do ppl who enjoy the game right now.

In Wilt's 100 game, Philly was letting NYK score quickly in the 4Q so they could get the ball back and feed the big man. Kobe took 13 of LA's 17 FGA - and all 13 of their FTA - in the 4Q to get to 81. No one's ever scored 70+ "ethically". What Bam did is insane and joyous.
