@cm9798 For London Olympics there was a window where you “bought” the tickets (ring fenced amount on card). Then one big draw to either confirm or refund. Prob a bit more transaction costs but less pressure on infrastructure in one hit.

I have never understood why online ticketing hasn’t changed in like 25 years. We all join a website queue which is basically pot luck so why not just do a random draw beforehand and save everyone the time
