@AndrewB95142494 @RichardWellings Which electric car? The Audis (for example) are dreadfully inefficient, so they need bigger batteries, which makes them less efficient… But still much cleaner than a petrol / diesel car.

@rgwarner @RichardWellings We don’t have a model 3. Other electric cars are available you know. 2175kg vs 2200kg in our case. Might be why the electric isn’t that efficient.

@RobertJenrick I know Reform are crap at maths, but why is drilling oil at 3-4 x the cost of Middle East oil good for the UK? Far better to use the cheap renewables that are already much more economical that 20th century fuels and far more secure for our country.

It is economic lunacy to ignore our rich energy reserves. Reform will unapologetically drill in the North Sea for oil and gas. We’ll get bills down and bring back good jobs.

@AndrewB95142494 @RichardWellings Really? A Model 3 weighs around 1850kg. A little heavier than a C Class at around 1600kg. Rather less than 2400kg for a Range Rover.

@RichardWellings @72Munster I live in a rural area. These things - with of course fancy alloys and low profile road tyres - are not needed. We do have roads. If you want something for snow, use a standard car with appropriate tyres.

@RichardWellings Yes, how on earth will I transport a fridge every week without an SUV? Get an estate if that’s your need. SUVs only practice use is illegal parking on pavements near schools.

Also, SUVs are really useful for homeowners, allowing quick and convenient transport of large, bulky items, including materials needed for maintenance and repairs. Home ownership is also under assault by this crowd.

@RichardWellings SUVs are not safer for motorists. They have a higher centre of gravity so are more likely to tip over. Still, just like a libertarian to refuse to take responsibility for more child deaths and damage to roads from unnecessary weight.

@LukeMiani MacBook Neo is great. Bought one for my son’s schoolwork, replacing the nice but far too old Surface he had. The Neo feels solid, has a good screen and keyboard and does everything he needs for school. Great little machine.
