If there is anyone in Westminster who believes this phone containing potentially damning messages mysteriously went missing/was stolen, I have yet to meet them...

@DPJHodges Maybe because former chief aides to Prime Ministers don’t tend to go round suing people? But you carry on with the defamatory insinuations, Dan.

So can we be just be clear? Journalists are alleging that Morgan McSweeney staged the theft of his phone, lied to police, and wasted police time, in order to hide messages to Mandelson? And that the Prime Minister might be implicated in a cover-up? These are extremely serious and defamatory allegations.

@MatthewStadlen That is exactly what the majority of people are saying - it wouldn’t be out of character for the unprincipled lying nonce apologist would it

@PippaCrerar @Solly01 You and your media chums need a stick to beat Starmer with so you’re now obsessed with a stolen phone that was reported stolen as a government phone. Yet, you were not obsessed with Sunak/Johnson deleting Covid WhatsApp messages. It’s amazing how stupid you think we all are.

Keir Starmer says it's “far-fetched” to suggest the theft of Morgan McSweeney's mobile is connected to release of documents relating to Mandelson’s appointment as US ambo. “Unfortunately, there are thefts like this. It was stolen. It was reported at the time, the police have acknowledged and confirmed that. That is what happened. “The idea that somehow everybody could have seen that sometime in the future there’d be a request over the phone is, to my mind, a little bit far-fetched.”

Starmer today re Oct 20 2025 phone theft: "The idea that somehow everybody could have seen that sometime in the future there would be a request for the phone is, to my mind, a little bit far fetched" Sept 2025: thesun.co.uk/news/36704127/… Pre October 13 2025: Labour whips and Commons' leaders' office prepared for Tory humble address and request to disclose Mandelson-McSweeny Whatsapps spectator.com/article/author…

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer tells reporters it is a "little bit far-fetched" to suggest that the theft of Morgan McSweeney's phone was to hide Peter Mandelson's messages. Live updates: trib.al/1evMZTO

This is the difference a @UKLabour government makes. Unlike the Tories who splurged billions to pay the energy bills of high-earners, @Keir_Starmer and @RachelReevesMP are providing targeted support only to those who need it. This is a government that treats taxpayers’ money with respect.

After 60 years in active politics you get a gut feeling when a sea change takes place & today I felt that the tide has turned for @Keir_Starmer & @UKLabour in spite of media bias & the effects of MEast war because people want a safe pair of hands on the tiller in rough weather

Keir Starmer and US billionaire Mike Bloomberg, December 2025 Bloomberg posts: “Under the UK’s devolution agenda, mayors are being given more responsibility for shaping their economies, infrastructure, and services - a very promising development. I was glad to meet with Prime Minister @keirstarmer, Minister @rachelreevesmp, and Minister Miatta Fahnbulleh to discuss a new mayoral training and leadership program that we are supporting together. Our team at @bloombergdotorg is looking forward to helping to get it off the ground.”
