1/2 Gemini 3 Flash is here ⚡⚡⚡ Starting today, we’re rolling it out globally in Search as the default model in AI Mode (google.com/ai). 3 Flash brings the sophisticated reasoning capabilities of Gemini 3 to Search, without compromising speed. This means AI Mode better interprets your toughest, multi-layered questions – considering each of your constraints or requirements – and provides a visually digestible response with helpful links to explore further.

Today, we’re opening up access to Personal Intelligence for AI Mode in Search in the U.S. 🚀 This feature has totally changed how I use AI in Search. Here’s how it works: 1️⃣ Opt in to connect apps like Gmail and Google Photos. Search connects your info to give you responses that uniquely match your specific context and interests. 2️⃣ Start asking for things like ideas and recommendations, where this is particularly helpful. For example: I wanted new podcast ideas and Personal Intelligence in AI Mode gave me spot-on recs for AI and product building shows that are similar to some of my favorites (hey @lennysan!). It even found some unexpected options around dad life working in tech. 🎧

We've heard feedback on recipe results in AI Mode, and we’re making updates to better connect people with recipe creators on the web. Starting today, when you search for meal ideas like “easy dinners for two,” you can tap on the dish to see links to relevant recipe sites, plus a short overview of the dish to help with inspiration. We're also planning to bring helpful information like cook time to more recipe results, which testers have found useful for deciding on a recipe. We know there's more work to be done on this, so stay tuned for future updates.

(2/3) Take fashion: Circle an entire outfit and tap “find the look.” Our enhanced visual query fan-out technique breaks down every part of the image at once. You’ll get one helpful response with the accessories, shoes and clothing items – and you can even jump straight to trying on your favorite item virtually.

(1/3) Starting today, Circle to Search can identify everything in frame at once. Whether you’re identifying every piece of furniture to recreate a room's aesthetic or (literally) naming all the fish in the sea, Search now understands the world just as you see it.

New on Search: In AI Overviews and AI Mode, groups of links will automatically appear in a pop-up as you hover over them on desktop, so you can jump right into a website to learn more. And we’ll show more descriptive and prominent link icons within the response across both desktop and mobile. Our testing shows this new UI is more engaging, making it easier to get to great content across the web.

I’m finding myself relying on AI Mode with Personal Intelligence for where to go and what to do. For a trip it can now nail what I’m looking for -- e.g. finding coffee shops. So much potential.
