Yes. A reporter can, in fact, be legally jailed in this scenario if they don’t surrender their source given it’s a national security leak investigation.
This is especially true as it entails endangering the lives of American forces and aiding/abetting a hostile foreign power while we’re actively engaged in open warfare with them overseas.
