@jucojames @threadreaderapp Barely better than Critchely is where it is harsh. Critchely got 52pts and finished in bottom 6. McInnes is likely going to finish high 70s (+20pt gain). I cant remember the last time hearts finished with 70+ pts, hardly did it in my lifetime. He deserves credit for that.

@ryan_carr3 @threadreaderapp What I lay out in the thread is the evidence that they are not challenging because of things he controls - it's mostly due to Rangers and Celtic being crap. The factors he does control to varying degrees are barely better than Critchley's tenure despite big talent influx.

How well have Hearts done this season so far and how might Tony Bloom think about performance attribution of Derek McInnes? Let us assume that Bloom and his analytics people are high functioning in the domain of performance attribution? Here was his August 3rd comment:

@20MinuteTims MoN is simply trying to keep a sinking ship afloat during a crisis. He is a pragmatic manager who relies on good players who he then organises & motivates. But we have the worst squad in my lifetime. Why i find it hard to criticise MoN too much.

@ryan_carr3 @celtic_thoughts Every coach should have basic principles, every coach can see that basics are lacking and evert coach can see that we need patterns of play to develop. Nancy has no been gone longer than he was in, so why can't we see any signs of coaching?

@lionsroar67 @celtic_thoughts Because MoN was brought in to fire-fight and to stop a sinking ship from going under. Nancy was the guy to bring style/vision/philosophy and it turned out to be a disaster and had to be sacked. The amount of fans that dont get this is amazing to me.

@celtsmedia In europe you have more subs so he manages to make the bench. MoN clearly doesnt rate/trust him so in league games with reduced bench he doesnt pick him. Pretty simple imo

Disappointing that we can’t even call on Kelechi Iheanacho from the bench. What is the situation there? Drifts in and out of squads, plays a part on Thursday then isn’t even in the squad three days later. Does he not work weekends?

This was my worry. MON is simply a motivational manager that could get a tune out of a poor celtic side. However, the longer time goes on the less effective we become. Nancy had a style of play, he wrongly perhaps, tried to implement far too quickly, but what direction are we heading now?

@DoubleDenimCM They dont really have the resolve to sort it though? Fans want MN sacked and Dermot to sell, but they arent just going to do cause fans told them to. Only thing they can really resolve is getting GB back in but if that happened not like everything would be all gd.

I will never agree with booing our own players, nor do I personally agree with any protest which disrupts the team or the match… However, I do understand & share the frustration that the club has both the power & the responsibility to resolve the situation yet refuse to do so!

@aboutceltic It's obvious from the outside how broken things are at the club. People running the club have no idea what they are doing and have no strategy.

We are heading for one of the worst pair of transfer windows I can remember. We paid transfer fees for five players, two have already left the club. Celtic spent over £1.5M on just two players, the wingers cost a combined £10.5M & Scales has more goal contributions than both.
