@Josh_theJaysFan @JoshuaHowsam Personally be fine with the practice being banned, as the natural evolution is batters getting similar signaling and it turns into a battle of models instead of players.

@JoshuaHowsam In MLB I think it’s ridiculous and insulting to both your pitchers and your catchers.

@Josh_theJaysFan @JoshuaHowsam 1 of remaining sacred cows a quarter century into the analytics revolution. I hate that it is true, but over 162 players cannot compete with quality dynamic modeling. Like with all efficiency-focused modeling, single games and short series different story vis a vis intangibles

@adamski152 @KaiGWatson I get the analog but guessing Bloom and his people have likely learned a lot through experience and have ambition to accelerate their timeline after USG. Hearts also much further along in their competitive environment than either Brighton or USG were.

Kai been putting out a lot of good info- two scatter plots on the right indicative of the gross mismanagement going on at Hearts, IMO. Sign Marc Leonard then almost never play through him in buildup to exert any semblance of control? Crazy talk! xG difference from open play now

@hthejambo Bloom was explicit publicly what his expectations were, and he is most definitely "somebody." Underlying performance data was far higher than league finish last season, and not far off this season's. Bloom understands randomness at an elite level.

@Sam_LWR @hthejambo He's doing far more damage to just the player trading model financially than what a 3-year payoff would be. Throw in EU qualifiers in July and related financial impact of not getting into league stage, and £ at risk making a bad gamble is not how Bloom operates. We'll see!

@jucojames @hthejambo I don’t think you are far off James however they gave him a 4 year deal. I do suspect he will take the Scotland job and there will be a few crossed fingers that he does from Bloom and co.

@hthejambo That seems to be the consensus amongst supporters and possibly even some/many at the club...but not Bloom. Also, 3rd vs functioning Celtic/Rangers different than vs basket cases. His expectations and assessment what matters most and be surprised if level of ambition has dulled.

@hthejambo Bloom is not about "stabilizing" - he said at least 2nd this season. Player trading been impaired by McInnes as well, as "assets" not being used properly to monetize and kickoff the scaling up within the model.

@BrianP8on @KaiGWatson It is but also not being done coherently through that lens, IMO. The Bloom model at USG has been far more balanced- % ball vs higher resourced opposition and more control vs similar or lesser resources opposition. Hearts play similar vs Celtic or Dundee.

@KaiGWatson @jucojames I’ve seen them a few times and for me it’s percentage football. Get the ball forward and chase it . It works but absolutely no control in a game

@KaiGWatson It's hilarious to see clear signs that recruitment has been aligned to mimic how USG played at a similar project stage to a material degree then watch McInnes be incapable or unwilling to get with the program. Also been screwing up asset management/player trading in the model

Their lack of control of the ball/possession really surprised me but should it have given their manager? My worry is who Hearts go for next, I don’t think they win anything with McInnes personally. I’m not trying to diminish what he’s done this season but a manager that can coach better patterns in the attacking phase has Hearts further clear at the top and playing much better football. Just my opinion of course!

@hthejambo My guess is they will enable him to leave by saving face unless things somehow go off the rails the next 8 games. "Taken away" by a team in England, etc. Be very surprised if Bloom/his people do not insist on a change. He may even been screwing up Kiziridis transfer value now.

@hthejambo That is my guess as well, which is probably why these will be his last 8 games regardless of outcome.

Just paid my car off yesterday. Was buzzing to get it done. Being riddled with crippling debt buying a lease car spending £5-600 a month whilst barely being able to live isn't the flex people think it is either, atleast it looks cool to random on Instagram though👍

Having a paid off corolla is not a flex.

@JamboRyan1874 Agree it is a massive long shot now but seen crazier things happen. If they some how went 7W and 2D I could see scenario where the other 3 beat one another up plus some pts dropped to Falkirk+Hibs to make it close near 75-76 points. Of course unlikely!

@jucojames Motherwell are out of this title race, max they can get is 80 points and I cannot see them winning every game, the would need to beat Celtic twice, Hearts twice, Rangers Hibs and Falkirk… that isn’t going to happen

@ALargue4RFC @KaiGWatson Yeah - seen glimpses of possession-focused patterns of play at times even at St Mirren. Tough one given his track record does not have a robust sample playing the way the new DoF probabky wants but already rumors of that potentially going south. At least he knows the league!

@jucojames @KaiGWatson It was a budget issue. He played 4-3-3 at Motherwell when he had Turnbull etc… St Mirren have one of the lowest budgets in the league and he had to play a basic effective style to get results. Aberdeen are heavily funded, so should have better quality of players.

@StAnalysis @KaiGWatson Pressing yes but not counterpressing-focused, which has been a big shift in the Premiership generally this season and also Pfannenstiel's track record and pedigree.

@KaiGWatson @jucojames Every time we played St Mirren they were a nightmare because of how aggressive they pressed. Was almost suffocating at times and they seemed to do it endlessly aswell. Not sure he plays that way v Celtic/Rangers but id definitely say hes played a pressing style at St Mirren.
