exchanged notes w someone who has hired probably 10x more than i have in my life and this is the best piece that stayed w me. we as companies should not hire magicians. that, someone will walk in, and practically fix EVERYTHING. then you become a liability. it is so important for the founder to bring a strategic muscle. the competency of your new hire is likely to advance if you know what they’re supposed to do. personally - i’ve been the magician hire. i’ve also hired magicians. but learnt after good experience that you need not hire a magician again.
