It should be noted that Starmer has instructed cattle farmers reduce their stock by 50% moving to 100% because Bill Gates said Cows are responsible for 6% of the worlds carbon. Yet manufacturing cement is responsible for 10% and has one of the highest carbon footprint due to transportation yet each one uses

Miliband is a pillock
@latimeralder Funny, since I got home solar and batteries my leccy bill averages £0 even though we home charge 2 EVs. Seem to pretty well as far as I can see
Imagine if everyone did have electric cars and most people got home from work and plugged them in to recharge at 6pm every evening. How would the grid cope with that? It wouldn't. Ed Miliband is a clown. 🤡
@scaleyback246@StansburyDarren@AnthonyAinsdale You don’t pay £0 a month btw. I drove petrol/diesel for 30 years and they all went wrong at some point and needed repairs and maintenance which was always expensive. They were always worth ‘000’s less when I sold them and always cost a fortune to fuel up EVERY SINGLE WEEK.
@scutterhanson@StansburyDarren@AnthonyAinsdale I pay £0 a month, no lease required, the car is not yours. You'll also have mileage penalties, l can do as many miles as l like. If you end the agreement you will be liable for a balloon payment. So no, not really 'just' £200 a month is it.
@scaleyback246@StansburyDarren@AnthonyAinsdale Of course I’m paying for the depreciation!! That’s what the majority of the lease cost is covering 🙈 it’s all factored into the monthly cost. That’s what a lease is!
@scutterhanson@StansburyDarren@AnthonyAinsdale 'No depreciation cost' is simply a lie, someone somewhere is paying for it. Your claim is that basically someone gave you a free car which never depreciates, which is simply absurd.
@scaleyback246@StansburyDarren@AnthonyAinsdale For heaven’s sake, it’s a lease. It’s £200/month. At the end of the lease it goes back and I lease another car. There are no other costs involved for me other than routine services (£100 a time) and tyres but the lease is probably up before I need any. It’s that simple 🤷♂️
@scaleyback246@StansburyDarren@AnthonyAinsdale Like I said you clearly don’t understand. There was NO down payment, there’s NO balloon payment, and NO depreciation cost. The annual insurance is less than £300 fully comp.
@scaleyback246@StansburyDarren@AnthonyAinsdale Your £5.9k car is now virtually worthless. It’s cost you £2.5k in fuel/yr assuming my 15k/yr mileage, 8 MOTS (non for me) 8 expensive services and maintenance?? That’s conservatively £30k it’s cost you. That’s more than 8 years driving brand new EV
@KateFantom@scottfarnham85@Hyundai_Global A genuine 300 mile range is about as unlikely as it gets, and claiming functions that require power aren't using power is also absurd. You may be stupid enough to believe your own bs, but don't expect others to.
Our neighbours recently bought a @Hyundai_Global Kona electric “as a second car”.
Their Audi now hasn’t turned a wheel for over 3 weeks.
It seems to have been demoted to their “second car”
Who’d have thought 🤔
@old_doozer@TheEVuniverse They don’t own the majority of their stores or car parks, they’re leased from private companies who probably have little incentive to invest in something that is already providing a long term secure income.
@sarah_go_green@stbryers@g__j@OctopusEnergy I’ll have a look at this, thankyou. We have tried all sorts of things including Givenergys own idiots guide - it just doesn’t work! Ours isn’t the all in one btw, it’s 9.5kwh with separate inverter.
Our Solar Panel Installer has thrown us this.
GivEnergy are offering a limited-time offer of an additional 9.5 kWh battery to our system for just£2,400.00.
Is there an Octopus report I could run to help us with the investment decision?
@sarah_go_green@g__j@OctopusEnergy
@sarah_go_green@stbryers@g__j@OctopusEnergy I’m doing up another house and we’ll move next year, it will have the full shebang - HP, solar, batteries, underfloor- what it won’t have is any Givenergy products!!
@scutterhanson@stbryers@g__j@OctopusEnergy That's not good!!!!!!!!!!! About 2 years ago they told me the same and i said exactly the same!!! I then called theo CEO as i had his number and he was horrified! I can't believe they are still saying that.
@sarah_go_green@stbryers@g__j@OctopusEnergy They actually answered this time but were no help. They actually said I needed to unscrew the front of the battery and try something but I refused as I’m not a sparky and there’s a sticker on it saying DANGER‼️ and unusual screws. It’s obviously not meant to be removed.
@sarah_go_green@stbryers@g__j@OctopusEnergy First time it had just kicked out and wasn’t working at all. I phoned, emailed, tweeted for two months - no response. A guy at the everything electric show got it going remotely!! This time it was a change of WiFi. It’s actually working I think but the app doesn’t so who knows 🤷♂️
