Bad Bunny's mention of every OTHER country in the Americas besides the United States -- under the banner of the "God Bless America" halftime show -- was also political. Remember the "Donroe Doctrine," which is based on Trump's belief in the Monroe Doctrine -- that every country in the Americas is basically under the control of the US. Calling out all those country names demonstrated their violated sovereignty and the US's alienation of EVERY other country on this side of the earth. We just kidnapped the leader of Venezuela. Trump is constantly threatening Mexico and Canada. Our "war on immigration" and "war on drugs" are very much a cover for attacking and controlling Central and South American nations and their citizens -- often making their countries unlivable, then torturing their citizens for trying to escape the conditions that the US imposed. This is political.

I have seen a few reactions saying that Bad Bunny's Super Halftime Show was joyous and thus "not political" and here's something to consider: In Spanish, it was very political. His album is political. It is just another way of expressing that politics. Remember that his album is about a colonized culture (Puerto Rico was colonized by the US in the early 20th century) and that the colonized have always had to use codes to get their protests and their messages out under the eye of their colonizers. In the thread below I'll attach some tweets from Spanish speakers and especially people familiar with Puerto Rico to explore some of these political messages.
