@Mac_Pudding @stardustalien16 it’s actually both of the same pair😭 it’s cool when ppl recognise my work because i love to talk about what i do and sometimes it’s sad when i have some great idea i want to share with ppl and only a few ppl read that but as you said that’s 12 ppl who spend time reading

@silky_puff @stardustalien16 Fandom popularity has everything to do with it like this one that I like so much better is of a rarepair so it only has 12 kudos. It's all about enjoying ourselves and it's so scary putting that work out there that even "small" engagement feels so good.

@Mac_Pudding @stardustalien16 my most popular has 945 now i think but its only bc i was writing it in peak popularity and tbh i have much better work that has 15 kudos. but like idgaf i was enjoying myself writing it and i often come back to read them myself bc the trope brings me joy

@zanephiri_ i would say a lot of ppl do that bc you can see the obsession on the most popular fics nowadays so much. idk i never felt like the amount of kudos mattered and idk why but after byler became so popular it became more apparent to me

It has never occurred to me to let kudos dictate whether I'll read a fic or not. I don't think I've ever looked at the amount of kudos on any fic I've read either? Is this a common thing?

I think this applies to “unpopular” authors no matter what fandom you’re in, too. There are incredible, gifted authors out there that never get their due because people pay too much attention to the kudos and hits instead of the writing style and story idea.
