I thought the Chainsawman ending was really nice and then I forget a lot of people can't enjoy an ending to something if it doesn't have 10 extra chapters of exposition, prologues, overexplanation, post-credits biographies and an explosive final battle where everyone is there.

@miles_tzu They came back, and worked for the Flamethrower devil. The focus was on him and him alone. When you spread your focus out over so many tertiary characters you wind up with a bloated story

Weapon hybrids having no plot relevance in pt 2 makes me really sad honestly cause this was such a gold mine of an idea

@miles_tzu They are side characters! It would be neat I guess, but like I said they served their purpose. Please stop looking at stories as puzzles to be solved or wikis to be memorized. As a writer you need to focus on what's important, not just info-dumping about everyone.

I will admit, after reading that chapter I was really angry. I genuinely hate this chapter but I've calmed down so I can be somewhat fair in my thoughts: I don't like this chapter. I think it's a slap in the face to not only fans but the characters involved. It doesn't make any sense from a simple writing perspective cause so many things would need to change if it was an actual hard reset. It takes away all agency Asa could've had in her own ending by putting it in the hands of Denji. It feels rushed as it frolics through old story beats for nostiglia along with Powers return that is remincinte of Nobara but on steroids. This ending feels unearned and unsatisfying to me. My belief is Fujimoto was tired of writing this story based on the flow this narrative so far. What bothers me the most is that I believe Fujimoto is a better writer than this. I'm not buying the bullshit "Big Lebowski" excuses people are shoveling. The ball was dropped for whatever Part 2 was trying to say and I can't see past it. Good vibes be damned, this story deserved a better ending than this.⭐
