@tripandasa Not to mention, Asa turning her parents into weapons would nicely contrast Yoru turning her children into weapons.

@tripandasa I think there was a lot of potential with having Asa turn the body of someone whose death she blames herself for into a weapon, since Yoru says that the people they kill count as their property. Bucky, Crambon, and her parents all could've made very disturbing and strong weapons.

yoru/asa criticism that i reaaaally agree with. this is esp more for asa tbh; yoru has gun and tank, and even was put in scenarios where she had to choose between denji/asa vs her goals; asa's weapon making (her morality and guilt) was neeever explored/put into question

yorus use of her powers was boring asf. I don't mean that in just the "all she uses is swords" or that "shes a bang merchant" nah. the whole point of her using guilt to make weapons out of LIVING PEOPLE is never used after chapter 1. if yuko had to die, she shoulda been a weapon

@RealTruggler I've never seen someone disagree with this take and also actually show a good understanding of "show vs. tell".
I think a better way of phrasing the rule is "always make the story prove that what it says is true if you want people to believe it."

@MysterNotFromUS I don't think who the faker was ended up being underwhelming, he has a cool design and a cool backstory. What's underwhelming about him is that he doesn't really do much. He has about the same narrative relevance and role as the serial killer guy that Reze chokes out.

I think that SOME of "Two Fakers" fans only believe that because they either disliked or felt underwhelmed by who Faker was.
It's noteworthy that the theory had initially a small fanbase when Faker finally debuted but got steam after he got killed by CSM and we learned who he was

@freakonalaesh Makima and Caine would both be jealous of the other's situation. They each had what the other wanted (Caine had a world he could control completely, Makima had the love of everyone around her), but neither was happy.

@4milleforever Now that I think about it, I think a four part series or something adapting the stories in Buddy Stories could be kind of cool as well. I think all of those stories could be pretty easily condensed down to 20 minute episodes, and it'd be a good way to use some fan favourites.

@Arraveriii I really think we should make an effort to frame it as hiring an artist, not buying art.
The reason it's seen as so outrageously expensive is because it's treated like buying something from a store, not hiring an employee. Those are two incredibly different price points.

@tonikopantoja When it's framed in the context of how people actually get paid to do their job, nobody finds it unreasonable. The problem is that they do not see commissioning an artist like hiring an employee, they see it like buying something from a store.

@tonikopantoja I think what people don't understand is that professional level animation is typically done by an entire team, and isn't paid for by the second of work produced. Let's say a 20 second animation takes 2 weeks, you'd pay a team of 4 people each $15 an hour for that with this price.

there's a lot of smart asses trying to justify why this price range is outrageous, especially using their "industry/studio knowledge/expertise" as a way to support their argument. this would be considered low ball for a very prolific/highly demanded animator.

@JessicasuAKA @doncdesole The USS Callister's ending is basically what we saw play out in Episode 8, isn't it? And the way they're treated in the show by Caine lines up more closely to how Todd from Breaking Bad (forgot his character's actual name) treats the AI copies of his coworkers.

San Junipero being the only one where two characters manage to overcome the restrictions of their fake universe to find happiness as Gooseworks suggests these characters need to do. Or two copies of them when the real them died. They definitely throw in the funeral scene in that to have you doubt the happy ending. Wouldn't be surprised if we get a bittersweet ending here too.

I get the feeling that most of the new circus members are brain scans of dying or recently deceased people.
Which makes Caine the host of this half-baked purgatory. It also gives interesting insight into times where he’s mentioned that he was ‘created to keep your minds active’.

@Maudeofmany In the German Dub he gets a voice filter when he turns low-poly. I don't think any of the other dubs do that, I didn't check all of them, but I figured I'd see how some of them are.
French and German both did really well, but the Japanese one is so weird. You have to check it.

@MarskyMessier Yeah, that makes sense. I mainly it interesting how it seems to be that that what looks like an accident that Kinger is at fault for is actually something that was planned by this entity and was presumably the only possible outcome. "Accidental torment".

I am not sure if Kinger is listing files from a path or going to that path specifically (you'd use "cd" for that), but we can see something from "/secured/" (a directory) listed with two other directories and more files with user permissions too. It lists 8492 entries. 11/

@MarskyMessier If it was someone who wanted Caine dead that was manipulating the terminal, they'd know that Kinger couldn't be convinced to kill him. So it'd have to be an accident he's pushed into. I don't know why they'd tell him that directly, though, it seems counterproductive.

@MarskyMessier It's interesting how it says "torment needs to be accidental", and then Kinger only managed to accomplish his goal of stopping the program by hitting a key on accident. Like it was waiting for him to do that.

@MarskyMessier I interpreted this detail when I noticed it as something Kinger made up on the spot to 'conjure' it. Since those words wouldn't have meant anything to him beforehand (If they were pre-existing nicknames we would've heard it in the flashback), it wouldn't be his real credentials.
