Hot take: Sub Rosa isn’t the worst TNG episode. I don’t even think I’d put it in the bottom 5. Maybe not even bottom 10. Is it stupid? Oh yeah. But there are far worse offenders for worst episode in season 7 alone. In my opinion, the worst episode, hands down is The Naked Now. Tasha Yar never ever recovered from the horrible writing of that episode. The two things people know about her are that she banged a robot and that she was killed by an evil oil slick, and the first of those happened in the very second episode.
