For a long time, I’ve been observing the Web3 marketing space. And honestly? Most of the strategies being used aren’t ideal. But here’s the tricky part… I don’t entirely blame the marketers. Most projects want: • Numbers. • Engagement. • Impressions. • Vanity spikes. And everything that stops at the top of the funnel. They rarely stop to ask: Are these metrics converting into real users? Rather, they keep baiting short-term extractive users with incentives. Which I won't still blame them because it's a competitive market and everyone is fighting for attention. Most of those projects claiming "new narratives" or "innovative solutions", Already have another project solving the problem they claim to be solving with their "new tek". From time to time, questions about the marketing culture of web3 pops up on the TL, Marketers and users go back and forth about the same "GIVEAWAYS, ACTUAL USERS, & MERCERNARY USERS" for a while, then the conversation dies off. We keep going in circles, with no one actually proffering a concrete solution on how to move forward. That’s where my frustration started. After coming into the web3 space and having some experience as a community builder and creator, The thought of becoming a marketer has always been on my mind. But I didn’t just want to become a marketer. I wanted to understand: • What actually converts • Marketing rooted in performance • How to scale beyond the top of the funnel • How to build sustainable acquisition systems I tried learning with AI. It helps, but mostly at the surface level. My real question was, How do you scale to the bottom of the funnel? And that’s where experience matters. Which was exactly what I was missing. Then I came across the PERFORMANCE MARKETING course, Put together by the @w3a_academy. And just from the outline alone, I knew this was it. So I committed. Not just for the sake of completion, But because I knew if I wanted to see a new pattern in Web3 marketing… The change had to start with me. Fast forward to about a week later, I'm done with the course and now a Certified Performance Marketer. And more importantly, I now understand how to build marketing systems that prioritize real users over vanity metrics. Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on stuffs I learned about Segmentation, Attribution, Pricing Models, Testing, and so much more around Performance Marketing. So you can also have a different view of how web3 marketing should be. Btw I can't believe 3 of out 5 people voted that I'd score below 70% in the exams. Let's just say they had problems undering the >< symbols😂

It was supposed to be a 5-hour 4-minute course... But somehow, I've spent over a week going through it. You are probably asking why. Well, for a start I'd say they lied. They lied about the course being just a 5 hour course. They lied about the value of the course... In fact, they undersold the value of the course as a whole.| Because what was packaged as “5 hours” is honestly a full-blown masterclass. The type people charge 5 figures for. What @rossneilson put together isn’t just theory... It’s practical, structured, and clear. And I can clearly tell it was all from experience, not just for the sake of rolling out a course. Well, as for why I haven't finished it yet, that's because I have been taking my time to go through each module carefully. To me it's not just about finishing but being able to understand and implement what is been taught. So far, I’ve covered up to the sessions on segmentation (with @IlyaBoeing ) and metrics that matter (with @raavii27 ), and those alone can shift how you see marketing forever. @alexschultz's Art and Science of Digital Marketing book referenced in the course has also been a strong companion through this process. I’m genuinely grateful to @rossneilson for putting this together. And to my mentor @BilyanaChristov you are amazing, thank you for pointing me in this direction the moment I said I wanted to upskill in marketing. I'm learning so much and soon I'd start putting some of what I learnt out here and into practice. The cohort is still open if you’re serious about sharpening your marketing skills.
