For all our new Japanese friends I have a question. So in the US we are taught that the turning point in the pacific (mildly debated) is the battle of midway. Are you taught the same thing? Or is it more like “that is when we knew we may have made a mistake”. Just curious.

I love sea urchin now, but it took quite a while. My Korean father in law kept asking me to eat it. And one time he did actually put a raw quail egg on it, and I was like "Dad, that doesn't really make it better." It was only after trying it about a dozen times that I started to like it.

@kengakusha1 It is delicious but most Americans are not ready for it yet. It’s a delicacy that goes against western thought. It’s served cold over other raw things with ikura on top or a quake egg yolk and it’s just too much. I’ll take all of theirs.
