English

@kyledecorte @JoshBoersen @AdamJPfeffer Yes, the corn is drying faster than I thought likely because the density isn’t there and it’s easy to remove the water.
English

First corn dump of the year, so far moisture is much lower than anticipated and quality looks good. Guess we’ll hammer down after all #harvest23 party commences!

As farmers we live and work around wild animals all the time
And most of the time we live in harmony with each other
It’s #FarmerFriday so let’s see those wildlife pics

@clintwfischer One thing you have in this world is your word. Seems it’s not worth what it used to be to a lot of individuals anymore

A friend I met this spring (thanks to X) had been working with an older gent to take over his crop farm.
Sent me this text out of the blue recently:
"If you could put my name in the ring for transition opportunities anywhere in the country, I'd appreciate it."
Came as a surprise, since he'd been planning things with his retiring farmer.
I said sure, since I'm working with a couple farmers looking for an unrelated young person(s) to take over.
But, what happened to his deal?
His response: "Long story short, had everything ready to go (handshake deal) to begin the transition at the end of this year & the farmer decided to call it quits & rented his ground to a big dairy."
Heartbreaking for my friend.
He admitted he should have had some written agreement before lifting a finger there this spring.
My friend asked me to share his story, in hopes it will help someone avoid the mistakes he's made.
That is: not having clear written expectations for both parties.

@farmboy8400 Everyone can do better but attacking each other in a public forum instead of a discussion may lead to a better result and common ground

Tomato farmers need to do better…
Tractor with 2 wagons which is fine
BUT make sure the lights on the wagons work!!!!
You’re giving all farmers a bad rep #DoBetter

@SteveTwynstra It’s been all over here last few weeks as well as a coast guard

Does anyone out there know if these Hardi section control valves are serviceable? This one works well when pressure is high but stays closed too often. #ontag
