Nearly any fool can govern a people, it takes little effort to keep status quo. Leadership takes risk, and accepts there will be failure along the way. You won't be able to blame anyone else for it. You just need to continue on. The mob won't like it, but is the mob right?

If you call for a quote and then respond to it by saying “well I have a truck and trailer myself I could just go do it”. Then just go do it, cause I can promise you I’m not. Third phone call like that in two days.

@agronomistag @MikeGrunwald I use rye cover crops only where water is most likely to run and cause erosion. Cost is very cheap and I don't seem to need much rye growth to "do the job." Corn residue, not cover cropping, is what adds to soil OM around here (or at least maintains it). Soybeans do the reverse.

@MoeChauvin @farmerschneck It looks a lot like our Black Spruce trees. They've been solid for years, maybe only one of a very few I've seen come down.

We woke up to this morning…lucky the 150yr old 50ft tall pine tree🌲 fell away from the house & just missed hydro pole. Certainly changed my plans for the day! #WindStorm

Jeff Harrison, Chair, Grain Farmers of Ontario on CBC: Canada may be a net fertilizer exporter, but farmers are still exposed to global supply shocks. With one-third of the world’s fertilizer moving through the Strait of Hormuz—currently shut down by Iran—tariffs and disruptions could hit farm costs hard. Watch the interview: buff.ly/xNkCyJt

I represent Canadian farmers this week in Washington, D.C. It was an honour to join the @ASA_Soybean and Wisconsin soybean growers for meetings on Capitol Hill. We met with U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin and other representatives to discuss key soybean policy and trade issues.

...well the Ethanol plants want to expand but face issues with US imports at a discount I believe. Energy policy here is not favorable. Labour policy is still an issue. Disruptive logistics chains have investors shying away. If we don't export the raw product, there is a good chance we will have to export at least some finished product.

@JoshBoersen Why is the current policy not favorable for increasing use at the moment? The more grain we process here is always better than shipping out to compete against cheap, cheap, cheap. With Ontario ethanol we did it big time, dunno what it means by getting out of our own way

@Agridome I don't disagree, but our current policy environment here isn't very favorable for increasing domestic use at the moment. That is another focus area, we need to get out of our own way, in many cases!

@JoshBoersen It is, but utilizing our grain here in Ontario by adding value to it so much better. Ethanol the quintessential example, hopefully more coming
