⚠️GOOGLE SAYS A QUANTUM ATTACK ON BITCOIN TAKES JUST 9 MINS WITH A 41% SUCCESS RATE Google's quantum team now says cracking Bitcoin may require less than 500K qubits, far below the “millions” once assumed. Research suggests an attack could take 9mins, faster than a typical 10-min block confirmation, giving a 41% success rate. Google now flags 2029 as a key deadline to upgrade Bitcoin’s cryptography before quantum becomes a real threat.

What Socrates said about democracy more than 2000 years ago. He said that demoracy must fall because it will try to tailor to everyone. The poor will want the wealth of the rich, and democracy will give it to them. Young people will want to be respected as elderly and democracy will give it to them. Women will want to be like men and democracy will give it to them Foreigners will want the rights of the natives and democracy will give it to them. Thieves and fraudsters will want important government functions, and democracy will give it to them. And at that time, when thieves and fraudsters finally democratically take authority because criminals and evil doers want power, there will be worse dictatorship than in the time of any monarchy or oligarchy. Socrates (470-399 b.c.)

🚨COINBASE FORMS A QUANTUM ADVISORY BOARD Coinbase has launched an Independent Advisory Board on Quantum Computing and Blockchain, bringing in external experts to assess future quantum risks to crypto security. As per Fortune, the board includes academics from Stanford, Harvard, and the University of California, alongside experts from the Ethereum Foundation, DeFi protocol EigenLayer, and Coinbase itself.

If you don't understand how quantum computers work then make a long exposure photo of yourself in your room. What scientists call "wave function collapse" is just a random pick of a moment. As you see in the picture, in most cases that would be the boy reading a book. That image is a clever analogy for one of the most confusing concepts in science: Quantum Superposition. To understand what the post is saying, think of it as a comparison between "potential" and "reality." 1. The Superposition (The Blurry Photo) In the long-exposure photo, you see the person in multiple places at once—sitting at the desk, standing by the door, and reading on the bed. In quantum physics, a particle (like an electron) doesn't just sit in one spot. Before we look at it, it exists in a superposition—a mathematical "blur" of all the places it could be. Just like the photo shows the "possibility" of the boy being anywhere in the room during that hour, a quantum particle exists as a cloud of possibilities. 2. The Wave Function (The Density) Notice how the boy reading the book is "solid," while the other versions of him are faint ghosts? In physics, this is the Wave Function. It describes the probability of finding the particle in a certain spot. Since the boy spent most of his time reading, that "possibility" is the strongest. If you were to teleport into that room at a random second, you’d most likely find him there. 3. Wave Function Collapse (The "Random Pick") The post says that "Wave Function Collapse" is just a random pick of a moment. Imagine you suddenly turned on a high-speed flash and took a normal, split-second photo. The blur would disappear, and you would catch the boy in exactly one position (e.g., just sitting at the desk). The Act of Observing: In quantum mechanics, the moment we measure or "look at" a particle, the blur of possibilities vanishes. The Collapse: The universe "picks" one state based on the probabilities. The ghost versions disappear, and the particle becomes "solid" in one spot. Why this matters for Quantum Computers? Normal computers use bits that are either 0 or 1 (like a light switch being on or off). A Quantum Computer uses qubits, which are like that blurry photo—they are 0 and 1 at the same time. Because they can exist in many states at once, they can "explore" millions of pathways to a solution simultaneously, rather than checking them one by one. Summary: The blurry photo represents the "math" of where things could be. Reality as we see it is just the universe "snapping a photo" and picking one of those blurs to make solid one. Pretty cool right. Credit to @c___f___b for the original post which I expanded upon. $QANX @QANplatform #QANera

Bitcoin’s post-quantum migration clock has started. The next upgrade cycle won’t be about speed or fees. It will be about cryptographic survival. newswire.ca/news-releases/… 17 years after Bitcoin's genesis block, BTQ Technologies launched Bitcoin Quantum testnet on January 12, 2026, the first quantum-safe Bitcoin fork using NIST-standardized ML-DSA (FIPS 204) cryptography. (The same PQC algorithm that QANplatform chose.) This isn't a research paper. It's a live, permissionless network with functioning infrastructure: block explorer, mining pool, full transaction lifecycle. Anyone can mine, develop, audit, and stress-test quantum-resistant transactions today. The urgency is real: According to Chainalysis, approximately $718 billion in Bitcoin sits in addresses vulnerable to quantum attacks. Google's Willow chip demonstrated below-threshold quantum error correction in December 2024. Microsoft's Majorana 1 introduced topological qubit processing in February 2025. Industry roadmaps target 1 million qubits by 2030. The U.S. government isn't waiting around. DoD issued a memo on November 18, 2025, requiring all components to migrate to NIST-approved post-quantum algorithms by December 31, 2030. Institutional money is paying attention. BlackRock expanded quantum risk disclosures in its iShares Bitcoin Trust prospectus in May 2025, warning that quantum computing could "compromise the security of the Bitcoin network." The fund holds over $70 billion in assets. Choosing quantum resistance in 2024 looked like planning ahead; in 2026, it's looking like the only viable path forward.

Leaving El Salvador after 6 days of the Bitcoin week (Historico, Adopting, Health Reset at BTC Mansion and party at Club Cocal, etc). It was great. Met so many great people with great ideas. Yet I can't ignore one big feeling: some BTC realism is needed in the BTC (maxi) community. I believe a lot longer term thinking, like seen in the models of @ericyakes which he presented at Historico, is the key. We're in the store of value phase and not yet medium of exchange (not even in El Zonte). And we shouldn't be frustrated about that. It's just the reality on a path to a better system, someday. Till next time El Salvador. I had a fantastic time.
