🚨MUST READ: @GovEvers signed two executive orders creating a commutation board to allow the early release of criminals. Under his new guidance, murderers serving life sentences can be considered for release after just 20 years in Wisconsin, while violent criminals can be considered after serving half their sentence.
Following that guidance, @WisconsinWatch asked every candidate for governor whether they support the early release of murderers.
@saraforwi, @FrancescaHongWI, @DavidCCrowley, and the other Democrat candidates said they would allow murderers, including those serving life sentences, to be considered for early release.
@TheOtherMandela was the only Democrat who said he would not, though he supports releasing violent criminals, ending cash bail, and defunding the police.
I was the only candidate who pledged no early release for violent criminals and full justice for victims.
The governor gets the final sign-off on any release, so this race will decide whether Wisconsin stands with victims or sides with criminals. (1/3)
