A 20-year-old man from Preston has been charged with two counts of rape after a woman was allegedly raped at Preston Bus Station. Abisalom Tesfai, of Wildman Street, Preston, was arrested following the incident which happened in the early hours of Saturday 18 April 2026, between 5.30am and 6.30am. Police were called at 6.46am and the male toilets at the bus station were cordoned off during the investigation. Tesfai has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court. Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time to contact them on 101, quoting log 284 of 18 April.

A woman in her 20s has been raped by several men outside a church in Epsom. Surrey Police are yet to release any details of the men involved. The longer it takes for the details to emerge, the more likely it’ll be exactly what you expected.

Man charged in connection with Finbar Sullivan murder Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, 27 of Enfield was arrested on Friday, 10 April and charged with murder on Sunday, 12 April. He will appear at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 13 April.

A man has been charged after a car mounted the pavement and hit pedestrians in Derby city centre on Saturday evening. Sandhu Ponnachan, 36, from the Alvaston area of the city, has been charged with six counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, one count of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, one count of dangerous driving, and one count of possession of a bladed article.
