Good morning, Beautiful Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 Well. they say "Never Say Never" , a year ago, I vowed never to fly @FlyRwandAir again following our ordeal with them a year or so ago. This time we had no choice but to book on Rwanda Air due to my dilly dallying in booking a flight and finding @FlyEthiopian fully booked for the Easter holiday period. Although @emirates , @qatarairways and Ethihad Airlines had flights galore at bargain ticket prices, we'd have had to have our heads examined by a psychologist if we were to book with any airline that makes stopovers in the Middle East given the current Isreal/USA war on Iran which has caught some Middle Eastern countries in the crossfire. The flight from London to Kigali aboard an airbus , began with a little humour , upon boarding I pretended to turn left to take a sneak peak at the business class , before one of the hostesses tapped me on the shoulder at pointed toward the mbombela, economy class , right at the tailend near the toilets. Talk about putting me in my place! Being poor comes at a price I say 😅😅 The flight wasn't too bad, a few Team Fuloists aboard, recognised me at greeted me with a "Howzit, Chairman" . Made me feel like a celebrity, albeit a poor one, a Temu one as the ama2k would say 🤣🤣 We landed at Kigali International Airport bang on time, and the check in is done upon arrival, which is a great move. Then the long five hour wait began, supposed to be 4 hours. Rather than sit it out on the hard benches, we opted to pay a staggering US$45 to enter the VIP "Dream Lounge" , up from the $30 we paid a year ago. The price comes with a shower, "breakfast" and all the booze you can drink. The breakfast was dreadful , bits of sausage , I'll let the photo do the talking. Had a shower and two beers and found myself a couch and promptly baled out 😴💤and am told was snoring. After the long wait we boarded the Boeing 737-800. Damn! What an uncomfortable flight that was. We were squashed like tinned pilchards, no leg room , my knees hurt so badly and to make it worse, a stop over in Lusaka for "refuelling" . It was a boiling hot hour in the plane! After an arduous hour, we finally took off for Harare. When I got out of my seat. I had to "duck walk" for a while before I regained my step , knees were still painful as we walked towards the customs and immigration at RGM Airport. I was super impressed at the service at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport immigration. All we had to do was scan our Zim passports, glass doors open into a cubicle, then one look at a camera, the second glass doors slide open. Brilliant. I caught a cackle at one chap who was showing off in business class and had a British passport, he was delayed filling in forms 🤣🤣🤣Yah, why did he give up his Zim passport? Tsitstsitsitsi Baggage arrived promptly, immigration procedures were quick and easy. What a transformation. Well done, @Airports_Zim One thing though. Lets get proper uniforms for all immigration staff to make them standout and look smarter. At the end of it all , Im super chuffed to be waking up in Beautiful Zimbabwe 🇿🇼

@boldcolours I fell victim to the plastic chairs I bought in Graniteside at a “mall” called Gary’s Mall. Never again. I almost broke my back after the chairs crumbled under my light weight.

#LetstalkZimlife cont...So the other day I went downtown to the Graniteside industrial areas. My young sister wanted to buy some household wares there. It was a hub of activity there. The Chinese have practically taken over. They sell mostly plastic buckets, plates, chairs, and other shinny stuff mostly those that dont last long for very low prices. I bought a broom for USD 2. My only regret was that I wish all these products for sale were manufactured locally. Maybe some youths can get employed. One vendor, though selling pineapples for 50 cents was making brisk business. He was peeling the fruits for his Chinese customers and they would eat it using the other end to hold the pineapples just like eating an ice cream. People were busy there buying the goods for resale. I heard the fresh chips and so-called Russian sausage sold at a downtown takeaway ,Juvana near Rezende Street,Harare are the best in the whole of Harare. Hanzi they finish the sports? 🍟 Well if they are still open I’m coming home soonest ,and besides my usual itinerary,family,and jollifications,I’ll also be on a mission to taste test graze from various takeaways,restaurants,dives and dusty diners in Skies,Harare,Mutare and KwaSadza,but I’ll give “growth points” like Kadoma ,Karoi,Gweru and Chegutu out of the itinerary. 🤦🏽‍♂️ I also heard about Poté Pies in Zvishies,but according to my “sauces” they might not be available anymore. The World Should Know was released in 1978. As a selector, I got Mi Gi Dem on 12-inch vinyl because they have better sound quality than LP. Enjoy.

A couple of days ago I promised young Zimbabweans that I was going to do a dancehall set from my home in Johannesburg, using the records that I own, specifically 7 inch dancehall reggae singles. Unfortunately, because I have been travelling a lot, I fell ill. I had a terrible flu and my doctor advised me to slow down and ease up on everything. Today I feel much better, and I felt that I owed you something. I have just delivered a one hour dancehall set from my home, played strictly on 7 inch singles only. No 45 inch records or LPs. I have thousands of 7 inch singles, but because of time constraints, I could only play 45 of them in one hour. I hope you enjoy it. Tell me what you think.
