a month ago, I canceled my Cursor Ultra subscription, for which I paid a total of $2,629. now I’m on the $200 Codex plan and the $200 Claude Code plan, without needing any additional payments. The question arises: how much do OpenAI and Anthropic pay, on top of their plans, for inference, because this seems like a lot.

@mark_k I wouldn't want OpenAI. Too much debt.

Depending on the outcome of the lawsuit between Elon Musk and Sam Altman, there could soon be some management changes at OpenAI. How would you feel about this:

@6starwarsfilms Nailed it! I remember watching Return of the Jedi in the 80s and I was like sitting on my couch for hours thinking, man that was so cool. Now, I do not care one bit... I have zero feelings for Star Wars at all.

Disney's greatest modern achievement is making star wars fans like me completely apathetic I've read over 150 novels, played 20+ video games, thousands of comics, seen the movies probably 50 times each I dont know or care when the grogu movie comes out. I won't be watching it.

@giffboake @jonathan_wilke @cursor_ai Cursor 3 is a complete rewrite not using VS Code. You can if you want, but the new interface is pretty nifty.

@jonathan_wilke @cursor_ai It's litterally no different then VSCode and Copilot or antigravity they are all the same. Any fools shouting from the rooftops how a bugfilled fork of another ID is amazing is a paid shill.

I'm gonna say it: As it stands today, @cursor_ai is the best agentic coding tool out there. No jumping between terminal and editor, nice UI and you don't have to switch the tool if there's a new model. change my mind.

@hoomanask @jonathan_wilke @cursor_ai It's not going to matter here soon... Just as Copilot went to token-based pricing, so will the other labs. The era of $200 plans will be coming to a close.... They simply can't afford it.

@jonathan_wilke @cursor_ai Too expensive for serious work. My bill was $1200 for one week of working on a production app. Thats when I decided to switch to codex and Claude code. Now I pay ~$400 per month. I loved everything about cursor but just can’t afford it !

@VictorGuim4raes @github Kimi K2.6 is pretty good and cheap. Composer 2 for Cursor. Anything Opus or 5.5 level, not so sure. Open lab type of LLMs seem to be about six months behind...

@teak421 @1amLala @TrevorSheatz True Christians rely on the Holy Spirit for understanding and discernment when we read the Bible. I trust the Spirit in truth over any man. Catholics trust man to interpret for them. That's why they get so much wrong. Read the Bible for yourself.

When people read the Bible for themselves, they often leave Catholicism. They see that many church dogmas actually go against the clear teaching of the Scriptures, or aren't supported by Scripture in any clear way.

@songjunkr I had to go back to Opus 4.7 for some planning, though; it didn't do a good job...at least for me and that specific workflow.

I think Dario Amodei is right when he says: "Coding is going away first, then all of software engineering." At least in his world at Anthropic. They tell us they don't write code any more. Their status page shows us they don't do software engineering.

@twhiting9275 @github The companies are losing money, not you and I. Its a great deal for us. But, the amount of compute I burn up with my $200 Claude plan costs WAY more than what I am paying. We've got it great now, but not in the future.

This WILL happen with all major labs. Do you think OpenAI and Anthropic can sustain their $200 subscriptions when they lose money! Nope. That's why Cursor (and now xAI) is going to come out on top because they have a great harness with a decent model...and...its pretty darn cheap.

@twhiting9275 @github Its a great decision...for them. They can't keep losing money on subscriptions. Other labs will follow. Cursor (and now xAI) will be one of the only ones standing because they have a good, affordable model.

@github Stupid assed fucking decision. So, all "chats" are now being charged for. Half the time, it takes multiple chat sessions to do the work, by design. Naah, I'll go elsewhere

@alex_7_7_7_7_7 @github Codex will follow too. I would go with Cursor as they have their own low-cost LLM.

@github I will move to Cursor or Codex then, it was the one profit of Copilot
