The Bulls were huge favorites because they had Michael Jordan. Period. MJ had the greatest Lift, as supported by his On/Off Net Rating of any super star in history. MJ Lift + Teammates = Favorites. Plus, they he did not have dynasty talent every season. Those Bulls teams were still ascending during their early run. For example, in 1991, the Lakers and Jazz had more All-NBA Players. The Celtics and Blazers had more All-Stars.
