Using @Waymo highway mode is always an amazing opportunity to experience the most cursed min-maxed route planning imaginable.

Ten years ago you could build a billion-dollar business without ever changing your pricing. Now companies are relaunching their model four or five times in the first two years. We talked with @templaedhel, CTO of @getmetronome at HumanX about it.

Our entire engineering team was forward deployed by default during our 0-1 Back then, most support requests were actual bugs. So we put devs directly in customer Slack channels. They fixed faster, understood problems instantly, and eventually shipped better. Now we're stable enough to add a layer, but that direct line was more than crucial to reach this stage.

Feeling bearish on agent frameworks as they are currently defined… 2025: an agent is an LLM calling tools in a loop. Lots of frameworks built around this concept. 2026: an agent is Claude Code (or equivalent) in a VM, with useful programs (CLIs, browser, MCP servers), and a bunch of markdown (skills, commands, AGENTS .md) I want a framework that treats this as the primitive—not the LLM-with-tools abstraction

btw i am clearly with Claude Code for this "open code cancel" things. seriously, they give you a sub for $200 that enables you to use $3000 / month of tokens they give you $2800 for free you seriously think they want you to use this in another software like wtf

We’re delighted to welcome @getmetronome to Stripe! Metered pricing is the native business model for the AI era. As far as we can tell, the associated shift in how businesses generate revenue will be as big as the advent of SaaS. (It may even turn out to be considerably bigger.) We’re looking forward to integrating Metronome’s industry-leading capabilities with the rest of the Stripe Billing platform.
Scott Woody@l3amm

After six years, I’m proud to say that Metronome is now moving to the big leagues! We’ve signed a definitive agreement to become a part of Stripe Metronome isn’t going away - we’re just gonna scale way, way, way up with all the resources and amazing talent that Stripe has to offer. metronome.com/blog/important…

@thdxr @s2_streamstore @iavins the big q is what's the read pattern? As written it's unclear if sessions even matter if the page is just showing events? If you need to both enumerate sessions and then only events _per_ session_, you'd want 1 log/stream per session, and a different log/stream storing sessions.

quick little backend challenge - you have an app that sends events to a backend - the events are grouped into sessions - you never really know when a session ends, can always be more - there is a page that shows these events 1. you can only use object storage (s3, r2, etc) 2. how would you design this

@zachwritescode @samlambert @nicoritschel Yeah, see #blue-green-deployments-limitations-general" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/late… - “Blue/green deployments aren't supported for the following features: Amazon RDS Proxy” We unfortunately need th proxy so are limited on our ability to blue green deploy.

@templaedhel @samlambert @nicoritschel Intersting that RDS proxy doesnt work with this? But no. Ive got a few long running application containers in ECS so proxying db connections isnt really an issue for me. Ive seen Lambdas/serverless really apply pressure connection wise tho, which is why i chose ECS for this

the majority of Postgres databases we see are pg13. the postgres community should reflect on why people struggle to upgrade. the major version upgrade story is woeful.

@zachwritescode @samlambert @nicoritschel Do y’all use RDS Proxy or some other form of connection pooling instead? We have a feature request out for RDS Proxy support for blue/green for years, only recently has there been any progress on it. Major friction.

Filled pastries are kind of a slopfood. A very nice simple croissant is a health food (obviously). But then you inject it with some sugary cream. Now you turned it into a diabetes vehicle. Very dubai chocolate matcha labubu of you
