@NoahMF Turkiye requested that it's name be changed in the official English spelling through diplomatic channels bc they don't want to be associated with the bird. The UN and the US agreed to this 3 years ago. It's fine with me as long as we don't have to use the umlaut.

It’s absurd. We don’t say Deutschland. I’m a complete chauvinist on exonyms at this point. Cape Verde. East Timor. Ivory Coast. I’ll respect Persia/Iran, Burma/Myanmar changes since that is substantive, but I’m not going to pronounce some countries in English and some otherwise.

Our default at Silver Bulletin is AP style, so it's "Turkey," not "Türkiye". But I think AP is right in this case; it's a big ask to request that your official name in another language requires a special character.

Well, we are able to assess the time and what was known about Epstein at that moment.
