Bruh, if I wanted to rummage through random personal shit, I could have done that at PAYPAL. Hello??? Having tens of millions of people marked in Social Security as “ALIVE” when they are definitely dead is a HUGE problem. Obviously. Some of these people would have been alive before America existed as a country. Think about that for a second …

I want to save billions of your money and make our government more efficient. Rummaging through your personal shit is *not* that. A party of chaos loses—always.

America rose to greatness over the past 150 years, because it was a meritocracy more than anywhere else on Earth. I will fight to my last drop of blood to ensure that it remains that land of freedom and opportunity. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Root Cause of “Founder Mode” Everyone’s talking about @paulg’s take on why traditional executive mode doesn’t work anymore - but no one is talking about the root cause. The old model of hiring executives and delegating to them as you scale your business no longer works for leaders. And it’s not because executives are suddenly no longer capable of carrying a vision forward. It’s because the rate of acceleration in the technology industry is forcing the obsolescence of this management style. In other words, the root cause of the death of traditional Executive Mode is compression of tech cycles. Think about it - Microsoft took 25 years to become a household name, Google took 8, Facebook took 4, and OpenAI/ChatGPT took a month. At this breakneck pace, by the time founders explain to their executives and managers what they want, and wait for the delegation to ripple out in their organization, the industry has moved on and their ideas are no longer relevant. And as the rate of change will only increase with each passing year, “delegate, delegate, delegate” won’t work anymore. It’s time for a new kind of Executive Mode, one that empowers leaders to have their ears to the ground and adapt to the pace of tech instead of waiting on delegation.

Steve showed us that the future isn’t something you wait for—it’s something you build. His memory lives on in the hearts of innovators and dreamers everywhere—at Apple and beyond.

I didn’t plan to get into politics, but I realized replacing our failed leadership was the only way to make San Francisco a liveable place to raise my family. We’ve accomplished a lot, but it won’t matter unless we win in November. 👇 growsf.org/blog/2024-06-b…

This is wild. Runway AI just dropped Gen-3 Alpha that generates AI video just from text and images. A step toward building General World Models. 100% AI 🤯 1. Prompt: A middle-aged sad bald man becomes happy as a wig of curly hair and sunglasses fall suddenly on his head.

Apple’s shift to ‘Inference at the Edge’ (IATE) was driven by privacy concerns, but it also means zero inference costs for them. #IATE #EdgeAI

This is from Apple's State of the Union The local model is a 3B parameter SLM that uses adapters trained for each specific feature. Diffusion model does the same thing, adapter for each style. Anything running locally or Apple's Secure Cloud is an Apple model, not OpenAI.
