GrapheneOS never fails to be unprofessional or unhinged. Have fun trusting your privacy with them.
GrapheneOS@GrapheneOS

SailfishOS has very poor privacy and atrocious security. The portions of the OS they make themselves are largely closed source. It's a massive regression from the privacy and especially security of the Android Open Source Project even without the major GrapheneOS improvements. It's strange to see it marketed based on using open source code as the foundation for building it when they don't open source a huge portion of their own code. Android Open Source Project is a complete OS that's open source. SailfishOS user interface and application layer is largely closed source. SailfishOS doesn't provide anything close to bare minimum privacy and security patches. It lacks many important standard privacy and security protections. Bringing a desktop software stack with much worse privacy and security to mobile but while having much worse updates than a lot of Android OEMs do for similarly priced devices is hardly progress. Their Android compatibility layer is insecure and not a safe way to run Android apps. It also has very poor compatibility in practice anyway. Jolla worked with the Russian government from 2015 through 2023 and Russia took a large share of the ownership in the company. In 2023, they used a sketchy bankruptcy restructuring to drop Russian ownership of the company. Regardless, they had no problem working with them before. Russia has a state-owned fork of SailfishOS called AuroraOS. It isn't possible for others to do the same since it's not open source. European values apparently mean closely working with Putin for 8 years after initial the invasion of Ukraine. It's a strange way to market it based on their choices and history. It isn't what they claim it is in their marketing and we strongly recommend against using it. They've chosen to very actively mislead people about GrapheneOS because they feel very threatened by it so we have no problem saying what we think about it. We used to keep quiet since it's simply not very relevant.

Litecoin is basically Bitcoin built for spending It does the same job, but faster and cheaper: 56 TPS vs 7 TPS $0.04 fees vs $7 2.5 min blocks vs 10 min Running since 2011 with a clean track record $BTC is digital gold, $LTC is digital cash

Fun Fact: Because Kaspa’s max supply is much larger than Bitcoin’s, every 1 BTC is equal to about 1,369 KAS in terms of total supply share. In other words, holding 1,369 KAS gives you the same percentage ownership of Kaspa’s total supply as 1 BTC gives you of Bitcoin’s supply. Research $KAS

Nearly everyone with @BitcoinMagazine or @Swan in their bios have turned out to be giant grifters, with very few exceptions Weird, innit We all say bitcoin fixes the incentives, but there seems to be a high correlation between seeking out bitcoin jobs, and the desire to grift

i’ve been trying to steelman the filterboys/knots position over the last few weeks but i can’t support the way you guys are treating gloria you’re crossing a line first of all the video clip of her being presumably supportive of jpegs/wizards/cats is taken completely out of context. i know this because i vividly remember watching that segment on peter mccormack’s show in context a year or two ago and i was upset because i felt she and peter were pretty dismissive of our work it’s incredibly disingenuous to make it look like she was on “our side” (although i obviously think she should’ve been!). how many of you guys bothered to watch the entire interview??? but more importantly, this is in such poor taste, with way too many comments with a weird sexual angle, like seriously what is wrong with you guys i know the knots supporters well. many of you guys have daughters not much younger than her. it’s fucked up guys. really gross behavior one days you guys are going to wake up and realize you crossed a line and you’re gonna feel like shit about it you can be emotional about bitcoin as much as you want but ffs act like men. you’re being shameful. not too late to stop this

@realvijayk @BitcoinRachy Well I use the base layer and don't find it expensive or slow, for my usecases. But thanks for sharing your thoughts 🤣

TLDR: Base layer must be used consistently for Bitcoin to be successful. But using Bitcoin's base layer is expensive and slow. -- A proof of work consensus security budget relates to how much money it takes to keep the network secured. Miners secure the network and they're compensated in two ways. 1. Block subsidies 2. Transaction fees. In a few halving cycles, block subsides decrease significantly. So miners must rely on transactions fees only. If most transactions happen on layer 2, miners don't get compensated. To keep a 1% security budget, each transaction will cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars in the future. In other words, the base layer will be reserved for the elite and institutions and everyone else will be forced on layer 2s which are subject to centralization and censorship risks. Bitcoin will be too expensive to utilize as there isn't enough throughput on base layer to reduce costs and send transactions. Naturally, people will look for an alternative POW that's cheaper and faster to use. If miners don't get compensated, they shut down, lowering the hash rate, making it more likely for a 51% attack. This will reduce the trust in bitcoin if executed successfully. Because of #KASPA design, it solves this issue. $KAS is the perfect base layer for money. The only issue with it is it's early. But it works and it's humanity's true best shot of getting onto a sound money standard that EVERYONE can benefit from (not just the elite). I encourage you to study $KAS. You'll likely learn more about Bitcoin. I know I did.

We can jsut as well entrust the bitcoin code to literal raging commies, because.... *checks notes*.... lol code is written in a computer, computers have certain constraints that force code to be written in a certain way, has nothing to do with how people lean, grow up SO OBVIOUS. Ashamed I didn't realize this wisdom earlier.

Can someone from the Knots camp tell me why posting data to Bitcoin L1 is presumed to be non-monetary? What if it's actually used for monetary use-cases. How do you know the intent of data?

@callebtc Am I supposed to transact on-chain, and with high sat/vB, just for the sake of competing with jpegs? I hope not… have you lost your mind? Aren't you about user experience? Users don't want to transact more than they need to for the sake of some "competition"…

I remember when bitcoiners knew that free market + proof of work could defend us from nation-state attacks. Now they're afraid of competing with JPGs and don't want to pay fees to maintain the biggest monetary revolution in history. Good times make weak men. Bad times ahead.

Look, no one wants garbage on the timechain, but people are gonna litter. So, we can either make garbage cans for garbage (i.e. op_return) and people can put their garbage there, or people will put their garbage on the streets (UTXOs) b/c there are no garbage cans.
