I agree that you should keep your hands to yourself and Austin ideally should have gotten security instead of touching Karmelo first. None of that has anything to do with the verdict or even morals. Someone putting their hands on you or even pushing you is not justification for stabbing them. There’s just no way to make that work. You do not get to stab people because they shoved you. Being shoved actually puts distance between you and the other person, if you move forward to then stab them that is not self defense and it’s an insane level of escalation.

@UsingLyft I think the whole family was living somewhere in Louisiana after the murder and before the trial. I can somewhat understand the desire to get out of Texas before the trial for security reasons, as this case obviously aroused a lot of anger.

I haven’t seen evidence that Karmelo Anthony’s parents really did blow that money the way people are saying, but if they did I have to think that the whole family must be involved in gang activities. Nothing about what he did makes sense and could possibly have been a retarded gang initiation. That would at least help explain how little regard his parents had when spending the money they raised
