@dremilym @coreyrherman @mswami001 @WomenInCTAnes Do you use a 16 channel EEG for these cases? We use a 4 channel and to ensure that we have isoelectricity in unmonitored areas, we give 2.5mg/kg of Propofol.

@coreyrherman @mswami001 @WomenInCTAnes Full EEG monitoring so can verify true isoelectricity. Talking about deep hypothermic arrest where the hypothermia has already induced isoelectricity ....

@JMorenoGarijo @JCVAonline That's fair, but seeing the J tip in the RA confirms that an IJ was punctured and not the carotid artery which is the purported argument for long axis imaging.

@timothyDMB @JCVAonline I do not support this strategy. You loose the SVC view up to the entry point. I was extremly lucky to get my US training by interventional radiologists. In plane visualizing the wire go into the vein is the safetiest way in my humble opinion.

Results are in! Surprisingly, 59% of us actually use short axis out of plane technique for #ultrasound guided central #line placement.
