Asking the anesthesiologists, when you induce do you wait to push the roc after the prop? If so how long do you wait and why I do not mean for special cases like RSI or cases where paralytic won’t be used. Healthy patient, empty stomach.

Suppose you went to your employer and told them you wanted A, B and C if they wanted to retain you as an employee.
What do you think would happen?
@fuzzymittens You can order one ahead of time to be delivered between Jan 6 and Mardi gras from any of the famous bakeries. Need to be quick bc the good places sell out quickly
@orneryscientist@DoctorNeu2@TransNursing Depending on the central line (such as triple lumen or double lumen), a 16ga PIV will run much faster. Often times for straightforward cabg we place a double lumen CVL for infusions and a large PIV for volume.
“i’m going to learn about investing” journey
phase 1: intelligent investor
> ben graham & warren buffet, value investing, some peter lynch stuff, maybe even some greenblatt & klarman if you’re adventurous
“ok i’ll buy good companies at fair prices, what else is out there?”
@SatansDad69@Nudesandnursing "I don't feel comfortable" had become the crutch for those that refuse to actually become competent and thus "comfortable"
@Nudesandnursing Had a nurse in a sitter covid room last night say "I haven't ambulated adult patients in a year, I don't feel comfortable" as she was a fuckin stand by with a walker... called us in each time.
@MSharifpourMD@LionSleeps4ever Lol, imagine identifying a patient by a close up of their 20ga PIV. Also, imagine telling the anesthesiologist to get their own line 😂
I was thinking about creating a 🧵 on anesthesia myths. Please feel free to add:
1. NPO at midnight (can have clear liquids up to 2 hrs before)
2. Cricoid pressure for RSI
3. No IV/BP cuff on ipsilateral arm as previous mastectomy w/ or w/o lymph node dissection
@drdre424 This is routine practice. What if you lose your IV and both arms are tucked? Then what? Or if you need a pressor. You bolus ur pressor every time you increase your fluid rate?
