The government has decided to pepper spray citizens before speaking to them. This government is fuelling discontent rather than reducing tensions. The opposition should call a motion of no confidence in this government.

Cabinet meetings on Sundays are rare and almost always happen at a time of crisis, tomorrow is no different as Government moves to sign off on supports for hauliers, farmers and fishing sector. Taoiseach and Tánaiste to meet in the morning and full Cabinet to convene around 4pm.

🚨🇮🇪 BREAKING! Gardaí have declared a "national exceptional event" and deployed water cannons to deal with protests in Dublin and the Whitegate oil refinery in Cork. The Irish government continues to treat hard-working farmers and truckers like criminals.

@MichealMartinTD Abolish the Carbon tax, stop giving our money to all and sundry abroad, and end the IPAS scam and problem solved I reckon.

It is unconscionable and illogical that amidst a global supply crisis, blockades are pushing Ireland to the precipice of turning away vital oil shipments to international buyers.

The IRISH Government also spent €2.2 Billion housing the imports… But they can’t ease the pressure on its people that work and bring the money and food to the tables and to this country! You are seeing leaders that don’t answer to you, they answer to Globalists!

Government funded media in Ireland, and that's most of it, are having to sing for their supper with their coverage of the #FuelProtest. Even RTE must be quietly chocking on how they are having to cover this. The government can end this in 15 minutes by announcing the cancellation of the carbon taxes and a reduction of VAT on fuels along the lines of what Poland has done. It's that simple. The fact they haven't yet done that tells you how captured they are by special interests.

The government refuses to engage with protesters as they are not part of an organisation or representative body, yet those same TDs will have no problem engaging with these same citizens in the next General Election
