Most signers quickly rescinded after backlash. Intelligence Minister Gila Gamliel publicly distanced: focus on fighting the regime, not redrawing maps. No mention of "six parts," Kurdistan merger, Ahwaz independence, or Baluchistan. It's fringe support for one ethnic issue, quickly walked back—not "institutional" partition plan.

Communism isn’t anti imperialist. It’s usually just too weak to impose its ambitions more broadly. Historically, communist regimes have tried to expand their influence whenever they had the power. When they couldn’t dominate capitalist countries, they often imposed control over weaker communist neighbors instead. And internally the pattern is similar. If imperialism means rule imposed by force, communist systems frequently practice it against their own citizens, controlling movement, property, speech, and production through state power. So the claim that communism is inherently anti imperialist doesn’t hold up well. The difference is often capacity, not intention.

@sharrond62 Huge amount of courage, what an embarrassing situation Australia let themselves get into. They should have insisted these women remain in a safe haven. I highly doubt they will ever see their families again.

I spoke about these incredibly brave women in the House of Lords for International Women’s day on Friday. I’ve also been told of many Iranian sport women executed for just wanting freedom of choice. I stand firmly with them 👊🏻

For over 1,500 years Christianity has shaped the moral foundations of Britain. Not only in churches. But in our laws. Our institutions. Our sense of duty, charity, forgiveness, and responsibility. Because if the roots of a civilisation are severed, the branches cannot survive for long. Restoring confidence in Britain’s Christian heritage is not about exclusion. It is about stewardship.
