@sm @pmorelli Haha. Even as boss, I’d hate to impose on my employees. They would get a headache seeing me bobbling up and down walking!

DO NOT SLEEP on a walking treadmill desk for meetings. It's an incredible way to get steps in and you will actually pay attention during the meeting because it's impossible to do other stuff at the same time. Pair it with an AI notetaker.

Initially I was surprised at people's ability to ignore evidence leading to conclusions they don't like, even with multiple videos of the scene. But then I remembered that 34% of Americans don't believe in evolution.

Jessica's on the train home. What will she want for dinner? Black beans, I decided. So I made black beans. Then I checked my email and found a message from Jessica saying she'll be home soon and would I make black beans for dinner?

@tritran The fact that you know how much toilet paper costs is impressive to me. If you told me it was $5/roll I’d believe you.

I’m at the laundromat tonight because my dryer just broke and my kids need stuff for tomorrow. Anyway, did you know it costs $7.50 to wash a normal sized load of laundry? Dryer is another $1.25 for 30 minutes. No wonder it’s impossible to get out of poverty.

The payoff of having 3 kids is huge when they’re all old enough to play together and be best friends

@paulg @LovinRiftss @Kuroya_Kiyo No doubt things move quickly, but it’s clear that any attempts to bring transparency to the work is being squashed and that’s most concerning. If you are doing great things, for the people, why are you resisting from being transparent? This is not where “company secrets” is kept.

@LovinRiftss @Kuroya_Kiyo Because there are some signs that it's happening fast and carelessly, instead of slow and thoughtfully. But I don't know how much to trust such signs yet, or what the (so far mostly unreported) upside of the process will be, so I'm reserving judgment.

A young programmer asked if he should go work for DOGE, or whether it would end in disaster. I told him that it would at least be interesting, and that if he was worried it would end in disaster, that was all the more reason to take the job. Maybe he could help prevent that.

@esthercrawford The best thing to do is to get some help at home so she can remain at her own home for as long as possible.

My mom is nearly 80 and has started worrying about how long she has left on her own. I looked up assisted living places near me and it’s even more expensive than I’d imagined. The one closest to my house is $9k/mo (for a studio) and that’s the independent living option. 😮

If a stranger asks you to watch their bags at the airport, and you say yes, what’s the statute of limitations on how long you have to wait for them to return?

@sm @mauskopf I used to do that with my wife. Then we realized how much unnecessary stress that put on our life DAILY so we moved and now our commute is 15 mins and would NEVER want such long commute ever again. We get all that time back to spend with our kids, play tennis, or more work. :)

Every morning when I come back from my 1hr + commute to drive all my kids to their private schools and see the smiling parents walking their smiling kids down the street to their local public school I am reminded that I don't do things because they are easy

@sm I thought similarly but the fabric is highly stain resistant. Or you can go leather. Anyways, safety is key here right? Nothing would last aesthetically if kids really use them. 🤣

Does anyone have kitchen island counter height stools that their kids don’t fall off of? I’d love to see a pic.

Isn’t it illegal for food establishments in CA to not serve drinking water for free, when asked? My local #costco in South SF would not give me a cup for water at their food court.

@DanielleMorrill Since you have children and reaching 40s (and husband already there) - my STRONG advice is to buy life insurance WITH long term care rider if you haven't already. Long term care insurance is so important but most people don't know that 70% of Americans will use during their life!

@petergyang Buy long term care insurance. Others already said to eat well and exercise. But no matter what, you will grow old and 70% of Americans will need long term care services. If you wait until 60s, premium will be crazy and you may not even qualify.

Dentist went on and on about how perfect all my kids’ teeth were and what a great job I was doing and I was really feeling myself and what an amazing parent I was and anyway I went to leave and they were like “that will be $851 and let’s see them again in 6 months!” 😵😵😵
