@ForwardCarolina They’re called “volunteers” because they receive minimal pay (usually less than $250/week) and often room & board for their service. For the important work they do, it’s a fantastic deal for Americans. They’re actual servants to our country.

52 young AmeriCorps volunteers working in Western North Carolina on Helene recovery have now been fired, due to cuts made by the Trump-Musk White House. Volunteers had been working with local groups to deliver resources, repair homes and buildings and to work with victims. The @AmeriCorps is now being dissolved nationwide by the Trump administration.
