Tariffs are paid by the US companies that import goods, so no money is flowing into the USA. It's just going from American companies (and, eventually, American consumers) to the government.

I'm always impressed when a liberal has the courage to openly expose their ignorance. Its so much more helpful when you do it for us because then we don't have to wonder if you're a liberal. The cost of products are determined by supply and demand. If the price of the product is increased for any reason the consumer has the choice to either purchase at that price or refuse to pay the listed price and find a lower price. The importer knows this so they will eat the tariff cost because we are a capitalist economy run on supply and demand and there's always competition on pricing. If the importer is making and shipping tires and has to pay a 15% tariff, he knows if he increases the price to pay the tariff his product won't sell in the U.S. because we produce our own tires and can sell for a lower price. Also, tariffs are calculated based on what the importer charges for his product including insurance and shipping, so the more he charges the higher the tariff. And yes, imported goods cost more and always have. The fact is, tariffs were designed to make foreign producers pay for the privilege of selling their product to American consumers while at the same time encouraging Americans to buy America first because without tariffs, buying foreign goods would add nothing to the American economy.
