In 2011, at 17 years old, I applied for a job at McDonald’s and got rejected because I couldn’t speak Spanish.
I was ‘unqualified’ to flip hamburgers in the United States of America because I couldn’t speak Spanish.

There’s a glut of homes for sale in North Texas in the 750k-950k range
The buyers just aren’t there.
Most people wealthy enough to afford these already own homes and are either staying put or are upgrading to 1m+ properties
Entry level buyers are typically looking for under 650k
This range is the no-man’s land of the housing market right now

I voted to extend TPS for Haitians because I cannot, in good conscience, send people who were lawfully granted protection here, followed our laws, and built lives under our rules back to rape, murder, and chaos in a lawless Haiti. This is completely separate from amnesty or illegal immigration. Conflating the two is dangerous.

My property taxes are nuts (>$60k)
Why should two families using the same roads, schools, and services pay wildly different property taxes just because one house is worth more?
Did one house get way better garbage pickup?
Same services. Same city. It should be the same bill.

Removing TPS status for Haitians living in the United States would cost 350,000 workers their ability to work at a time when we’re already facing serious workforce shortages. I’ve heard from healthcare providers and business leaders across Nebraska, including @OmahaChamber, who are concerned about the impact this would have on patient care and our economy. I don’t see the goodness of deporting people who are here legally, working, and contributing to our country.
