@tyler_bender @azeher_may @KingofBeasts89 No? Seinen translates to young man. The are range is 18-40. Shonen is aimed at middle to high schoolers. You don't understand what demographics are. If you had actually read/watched Naruto, you'd understand how it was meant for 12 year olds. You're confusing shonen for kodomomuke

@tyler_bender @KingofBeasts89 That's my point? That the minor in question didn't want to talk about adult topics. Shonen is not adult.

Airport security pulled me over after scanning my backpack and was like “you can’t carry scissors in your bag”. I was kinda confused because I do carry scissors, but they’re tiny little cosmetic scissors about the side of a pinky and I’ve never had issues with it in airports before😅 I open up the bag and present the scissors to the officer and this large uniformed man just looks flabbergasted while holding my comically small scissors. He shoots a “what the hell” kinda glance to the scan operator and tells me I’m good to go 😂

@KingofBeasts89 What was the "adult topic" exactly? Shonen is literally aimed at teenagers. Have some shame

Guys when asked "are video games art?" can you bring actual good games as an example and not persona or kingdom hearts

Mel is the only champ where I fail to understand the outrage. It's like the community is making her a bigger threat than she actually is. Her skills are easy to dodge and W can be punished. Execute is annoying but she aint the first. I dont get the mass psychosis around her
Spideraxe@Spideraxe30

Mel nerfs: - Q initial base damage reduced from 60 - 180 to 60 - 160 - Q initial AP ratio reduced from 60% to 55% - W move speed duration reduced from 1.5 seconds to 0.75 - W cooldown increased from 35 - 23 to 38 - 26

@CharlieHaruno @sharp_ssbm CC, Shield Dropping, ASDI down, Slide offs, actually good SDI, ledge dashing, heck Wizzrobe sometimes even hits V cancels that matter. Melee has a plethora of defensive options, the top players win a lot because their defense is so much better than other players

@tyler_bender @NotAklo It really is mostly a preference though for sure, both games are great and I think every smash player should try getting decent/try to stay decent at both. Too many great people in both scenes to avoid engaging with either game IMO

Saw a lot of Melee vs Ultimate beef (lol) on my feed recently. I think i'm one of the most "qualified" players to speak on the topic, having won large tournaments in Melee, Project M/+, and Ultimate. Gonna try to give genuine insight, so hear me out before getting defensive. Ultimate is a pretty fun game casually. But it's one of the least competitive games i've seen be played competitively. That's not to say you can't get good at the game — it's just that getting good at Ultimate often rewards some sort of degen jank or not interacting, whereas getting good at Melee often rewards difficult execution. From the perspective of someone who has been around the Smash scene for a long time and has been very good at many smash titles, it begins to look silly: In Smash Ultimate, the devs removed every advanced technique they could possibly THINK of (bar b-reversing and RAR?). It's a laundry list. There are even mechanics that were newly removed in Ultimate that had been in the series since Smash64 (shield dropping, pivoting, running through opponents). Not only does the game lack competitive mechanics, it actually has anti-competitive mechanics. The input lag is abysmal. There is noticeably more input lag than in Sm4sh, and the game has double the input lag of Melee AT BEST. Using a gamecube controller is the most common way of playing Ult, yet not even the least laggy! I can understand enjoying buffer systems in fighting games, but Ultimate's buffer system is so bad that it's comical. Most people practice Melee on rollback netcode, whereas Ultimate online — yeah... I realize that a lot of Ultimate players are actually new to Smash/FGC. If you became decent at a different game and came back, you would realize how silly Ult is competitively. EVEN MELEE IS A MICKEY MOUSE GAME HALF THE TIME. Brawl players: "It's the new game, i'm done with Melee." Sm4sh players: "This is the best game in the series by far." Ultimate players: "How were we EVER playing tr4sh?? Can't wait for the new Smash btw." Can you see how exhausting it might seem to hear Ultimate enthusiasts talk about it being the best competitive game?🐏🐑 People will make fun of Melee for lacking character diversity (which is less true now than ever), but it's way less common for people to have legit examples of bad gameplay in Melee. The next up and coming Ult player will be another 13-year-old "prodigy" who mains Minecraft Steve anyway. Melee is one of the most technical fighting games with a dedicated fanbase and a captivating history. Competitive platform fighting games at the scale in which know them today would not exist without SSBM. If Melee is fun to you, play it. If Ultimate is fun to you, play it. But let's not lie to ourselves lol.

@ant_ssb @NotAklo Like all your points! I think what people are forgetting is everyone has their own preferences. I like playing melee bc I love the technical difficulty of it and flow stating in that game feels so good. Ult punish games feels so lack luster compared

@NotAklo For reference I’m like pr level in ult and a 3-2er at best in melee so it’s possible I’m just not good enough at that game yet to Get It but improving at the game being so punish game and execution centered is not a positive in my opinion (I do like both games quite a lot though)

Nice AI translated Japanese brother 10/10 ragebait 🫡
Think Before You Sleep@TBYSTweet

I consider this a personal victory. Every person I demotivate from learning Japanese is one less person I have to hear saying, "OMG SUKOI DESOO! That girl's dress is very kowaii." Give up. Japanese is too hard. You will never be fluent enough to watch anime without subtitles. ほとんど全部のアニメを観て日本語を勉強するひとは時間の無駄にしている。98%は「ペラペラになりたい」と言うけど、5年後、レブルはA1/JLPT N5だけだ。諦めたほうがいいと思う。 If you can't consistently commit 2-3 hours a day of studying for 3 to 5 years, you will never get good. Every Youtuber who says you can get fluent in 6 months is lying to you. Even if you study 6-8 hours a day in Japan, it is hard to achieve fluency on a basic level with a year's time. Better to give up and spend your time doing something that will enhance your life instead of spending 5 years on Duolingo and still not be able to greet a store clerk. My Japanese isn't anywhere near what I would like it to be but if you don't understand that WaniKani is ass then you are probably a beginner. Either look up more effective means or give up. You're welcome. Thanks to the guy from that post who recommended Yomu Yomu. I have been using it for like 2 days and so far it is fantastic for reading. I hope they make deals with major publishers so this app can reduce friction on reading with material that is actually interesting to read so it feels less like homework. The most frustrating thing is that there are game changing language apps constantly being created yet the main place people are going is WaniKani and Duolingo. I'm waiting for Migaku to incorporate AI in voice detection so it can cut the time it takes to learn pitch accent by 90%. Their pitch trainer is already cracked in terms of getting you to hear pitch patterns.
