Fourth. Fourth broken plane. Sitting on the tarmac at YUL in the FOURTH broken plane of the day, @AirCanada. The plane that was the replacement for the third broken plane.

I understand current staff shortages and was patient through the 2hr line at immigration, but I do mind the THREE broken planes that have turned a 5hr trip into a 13hr one, @AirCanada. What is going on? THREE. BROKEN. PLANES. On a trip with two legs. That’s horrifying.

@emmajane_net I literally thought you were writing a field guide FOR yourself. Like “The Beginner’s Guide to Emma Jane”. I got very excited. But, I mean, your idea is cool too 😬.

I'd like to make a field guide for myself. (In the spirit of Gathering Moss's suggestion to start learning about nature by assigning your own names to things.) Using an app for Flash Cards seems like a good starting point. Have you done similarly? Any suggestions for OSX?

@lisibit @LucyKnisley I just came here to say this! Ten winters in Quebec City and I just discovered Saute Mouton boots with the flip out crampons, and I am so annoyed that these were not in some sort of welcome pamphlet I received when I emigrated here.

I am sure that this has been done already (and better), but it was living in my brain and not paying rent so I am abandoning it here.

@ameeriklane My parents have a nice heavy credit card that has metal plate in it which gives it the distinct advantage of often not working in card readers.

So they're trying to convince me to get this card because it... weighs more than competing cards?

@pjf I mean, we can lower the bar a little, sounds like a lot of pressure to actually have goals. If you are struggling to put pants on, like, EVER, you are not alone 😬.

We’re nearing the end of our construction project (yay!) so now I suppose I should start thinking about type styles for the house numbers. NERDS: shoot me your favorite era appropriate (1956-1968) type choices for inspo!! House was built in 56 but had a groovy remodel in 68
