@MBTYuGiOh Kaijus are always a funny one to me (and by ext. Sphere Mode)
All the restrictions and safeguards they put on Lava Golem and they just aren't required by the time the Kaijus enter the game.
But its not really power creep because some people do choose Lava Golem over Kaijus

@Yugiman101 I liked Yugioh around the time of Synchro best. But modern Yugioh-Cards have too many effects on them to read in a duel and competitve is bs anyway thanks to the Solitär-gameplay. A game is not fun without back and forth

Does anyone LIKE modern yugioh? I keep seeing complaints about how the game has evolved over the years, and I wonder, for those like me who kept up with the game, do you still find enjoyment in today's play style?

but people who dont play yugioh dont understand the real reasons why and it would take a long time to explain. its not about resource systems

Yugi boomers gotta let go of whatever version of yugioh they remember. I played that back to the past 2012 trial and the game was awful 😭 I honestly believe we’re in the golden age with current modern yugioh. The speed, complexity and deck variety is so good rn

I love Yugioh to death so it's always bittersweet when I'm reminded just how many people used to play this game and stopped because of the power creep and complexity. I've met countless folks over the years and this is so often their story with the game :(

@DunceCap64 @TierZoo I would say the 4th started in JUSH - HUGE difference between Modern combo slop decks of the 2020s like Adamancipator, Snake Eye, Drytron, Infernoble and the Midrange decks you NEED to be playing to compete nowadays like VS, Dracotail, Radiant Typhoon and even Yummy kinda

@TierZoo Honestly it would be easier to say Yu-Gi-Oh has 3 different eras, the "Implied Yu-Gi-Oh of old school days" which runs to 2014, the Duelist alliance Era which runs to just before TOSS format, and the modern format which runs from TOSS to today. We're about to reach a 4th soon
