Derry's fixture against Drogheda on June 26th will be the first played on the new surface! derryjournal.com/sport/football…

@Watson_SLdn If youre going every week, bringing kids, its expensive.I have STs for myself&kids and we pick and choose away matches with costs.
Price shouldnt be compared to any other league. What difference does it make if a local lad can't afford to see his local team every week at 20 euro?
English

Respectfully, how can £20 be too much when Premier League sides are charging £100-£150 for corners/WWE wrestling inside the 6 yard box?
Not sure why people keep putting the league down. Yesterday was a good battle between 2 good sides & Derry played their part. Value for money
AroundTheGroundsNI@ATGroundsNI
First League of Ireland game in a while - decent match but £20 in is a bit much. Derry poor, Tiernan Lynch possibly on borrowed time, James McClean absolutely brutal (not the first time according to the locals), could have done without letting go of a certain Pat Hoban
English

@DaytrippingRed 21 years later and its the exact same argument. Those owning the club will keep doing what they want while supporters keep buying tickets. If majority had the balls to boycott 21 years ago, this wouldn't be happening.Lazio supporters have shown how to protest against their owners!!
English

This is atrocious
The treatment of loyal season tickets finding reds has been nothing short of shameful the last few years
Callous decisions after callous decision
It needs to stop

Family Stand Update: MUFC sent comms to all ST holders who were moved from Stretty to Nth Stand in March 2020, saying we’d continue to pay (lower) Stretty prices until our child “migrates out” of the FS. This is when they reach 16. They’ve now rowed back on that position.

@LOIPDNews @DundalkFC @DroghedaUnited The least he deserves. Scumbag shithousery that was leaked. At the same time, I've laughed each of the 100 times I've watched it!
English

Kevin Doherty has received an apology after his comments to an LOITV cameraman were made public! 🙏
He made reference to the state of Oriel Park after the recent flare damage caused to @DundalkFC’s new pitch! 🏟️
@DroghedaUnited were very unhappy the clip was broadcast! 😡

English

@FinnyOD @betweenstripes Did dundalk pay for repairing cobhs plastic pitch last season or drogheda grass pitch in 2024?
English

@betweenstripes Drogs should be made to pay the full cost of repairing the pitch also. They wrecked it.

The FAI have reacted to the Independent Disciplinary Committees decision to hand "record sanctions" to Drogheda United.
The FAI have confirmed they will be introducing new licensing requirements concerning pyrotechnic deterrents next season.
Statement - Pyrotechnics
The League of Ireland and the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) acknowledges the record sanctions for pyrotechnics infringement that were administered by the Independent Disciplinary Committee against Drogheda United FC following their fixture against Dundalk FC at Oriel Park last Friday, 20 February 2026.
This includes:
A fine of €15,000;
A ban on Drogheda United FC supporters attending the Club’s next four away fixtures; and
A ban on Drogheda United FC supporters attending all fixtures at Oriel Park for the remainder of the 2026 season.
These significant sanctions have been deemed necessary by the Independent Disciplinary Committee considering the magnitude of the incident.
While this incident and the use of pyrotechnics are carried out by a minority of supporters, these unacceptable events cannot be repeated in future and have no place in the League of Ireland.
Following the sanctions issued by the Independent Disciplinary Committee, supporters are also reminded that the range of sanctions available to the Committee in relation to pyrotechnics offences include:
Significant fines
Full or partial stadium closures
Points deductions
Alongside this record level of sanction, the League of Ireland and the FAI are committed to bolstering our efforts to combat the challenge that pyrotechnics presents at our stadia.
This commitment includes:
Mandatory Club Licensing requirements from the 2027 League of Ireland Season for adequate CCTV which will assist with the identification of any persons found to be engaging in the illegal use of pyrotechnics.
Enhanced detection measures at key entry points to our stadiums such as the use of pyrotechnic detection dogs.
Refusal of entry and / or ejection from the stadium if a person is engaging in this activity followed by a stadium ban.
The League of Ireland and the FAI would like to remind supporters of the dangers of pyrotechnics usage and the throwing of missiles inside stadia, which is strictly prohibited at all League of Ireland fixtures.
With pyrotechnics burning at extremely high temperatures ranging from 700-2500c, supporters are risking the following possibilities:
Burns to flesh and clothing
Explosive effects on persons with potentially fatal damage to the body
Explosive effects to structures
Acute toxic effects from smoke
Impact on head, eyes and hearing
Panic amongst packed terraces
Significant damage to Club infrastructure
We are committed to working with our Clubs to provide a safe environment for players, officials, staff and spectators at all our fixtures and this can be ensured with the assistance of supporters abiding by these stadium regulations.
English

@betweenstripes Unbelievable. And then the aftermath for away supporters en route for weeks after not been run in media (bar for rovers)
English

@wheelodrog Incredible that incident just went away
English

@McDonnellDan Kilduff would want to get over it now. Did dundalk offer to pay to fix droghedas pitch in 2024 or cobhs plastic pitch when dundalk supporters threw flares on both?

‘I’m surprised the game went ahead’ – Ciaran Kilduff admits Oriel Park is unsuitable for games until pitch is repaired

English

@LiveatOriel @DundalkFC @DroghedaUnited Dundalk supporters threw flares on pitch in drogheda the last time they were up. Neither is ok!
English

@FightingTaoCom @Licha0741 @betweenstripes So you forgot dubdalk supporters threw flares on the pitch in united park?
English

@wheelodrog @Licha0741 @betweenstripes Your attention span is as long as a toddlers and you’ve forgotten virtually all of the posts so far. Were you dropped on your head one too many times?
English

"It's unacceptable, there's damage to the pitch but it's damaged the reputation of the league, it's a stain on the whole."
Dundalk FC manager Ciaràn Kilduff strongly condemns the actions of the traveling Drogheda United supporters who threw pyrotechnics repeatedly onto the new Oriel Park playing surface.

@FightingTaoCom @Licha0741 @betweenstripes My first comment was football should be played on grass. Which it should. When your lads tried to destroy our pitch with flares in 2024 we patched it up and watered it. Plastic pitches are different. Flares should never be thrown. Do you not agree?
English

@wheelodrog @Licha0741 @betweenstripes You have been defending it from your first comment. Blaming everything but them.
English

@FightingTaoCom @Licha0741 @betweenstripes I agree. I didn't defend anyone throwing
I'm simply saying that in a league where flares are all over the place, thrown on pitches by supporters from bohs, drogheda, pats and Dundalk supporters over the last 2 years, a plastic pitch isn't the best idea. Grass is repaired easier
English

@wheelodrog @Licha0741 @betweenstripes You’re the clown that is deflecting from scumbags throwing flares by blaming the pitch. The problem is the scumbags, not the pitch. Hopefully criminal charges will follow.
English

@FightingTaoCom @Licha0741 @betweenstripes Did dundalk supporters not throw flares on the pitch in united park they were last up? We had grass, water, a groundsman and all was grand.
For the record, I think anyone that throws a flare on a pitch is an idiot 👍
English

@FightingTaoCom @Licha0741 @betweenstripes I wasn't even at the match you clown. But I was sitting at home thinking, stick to grass, looked like the damage went deep into surface too easily? (And im not winding up saying that! Flares are all over the league)
English

@wheelodrog @Licha0741 @betweenstripes So you guys throw flares on the because you don’t like the pitch. Grow the fuck up!
English

@DaytrippingRed Di canio. Never forgave fergie for not paying an extra 500k for him!
English

@DaytrippingRed @The__1958 @MU_ST All well and good, and loved that the 58 met with fcum last year, cane across as good lads. But while supporters still fill the glazers pockers with cash, I can't see it ever change (saying that over 20 years now, and opinion is as valid as it was 20 years ago!!)
English

It’s fantastic to see that finally we have unity between @the__1958 and @MU_ST
Together we are stronger, a United voice with some great lads involved in both groups, this can only benefit the fanbase as a whole
