UPDATE 3PM: Aerial views, courtesy of Finn Wendt at the Cascadia Daily News, show the scale of the slide south of Bellingham. At least one of the rocks is bigger than a bus. NB I-5 remains closed, movement on the slope prevents crews from safely beginning cleanup. (1/2)

UPDATE 8:30AM: Crews just sent these photos of NB I-5 south of Bellingham where all lanes remain closed due to slide activity. Geotechs will be on site this AM. Roughly 2-3000 cubic yards of material is blocking the road. For context, the avg. WSDOT dump truck carries 16 yards.

(1/2) Spring has sprung on State Route 20 North Cascades Highway! The seasonal clearing starts next Monday, March 23. The team will start at Early Winters (MP 178) and head west, so we ask those who keep snowmobiles parked at the gate to please move them before Monday morning.

Heads up east Pierce County! It's nearly spring, but this rain is keeping us busy! Please keep an eye out for us as we clear drains on SR 165, repair guardrail on SR 410 near Bonney Lake and complete a temporary lane closure on SR 161 at North Hill.

OPEN: SR 410 has REOPENED between Enumclaw and Greenwater. WSDOT maintenance crews worked from sunrise to sunset since Friday to clear 100+ fallen trees and plow/treat more than 60 highway miles.

UPDATE 5: Crews continue working to clear SR 410 btwn Enumclaw & Greenwater where more than 100 trees have come down, some becoming entangled with @PSETalk lines. Conditions improved today, but there is a lot to be done. We'll keep at it and keep you updated on our progress.

UPDATE: Left two lanes of NB I-5 in Cowlitz County are now open! The right lane remains closed while crews finish clearing debris from the slide. There's about 4 miles of backups, so expect delays as traffic starts moving again. Thanks for your patience, and drive safely!

UPDATE: NB I-5 at Dike Access Rd (MP 22) near Woodland remains CLOSED due to a debris slide. Geotechnical crews are on the way to assess the area and make sure it’s safe for travel. There is still no ETA for reopening. Backups are reaching about 3 miles. Please avoid the area!

UPDATE 4: Conditions on SR 410 between Enumclaw & Greenwater have worsened throughout the day. Our crews will work as long as we can but we don't anticipate that SR 410 will reopen today. We acknowledge the frustration & remain committed to reopening as soon as it is safe.

I-90 from North Bend to Ellensburg will remain CLOSED overnight. The highway has severe compact snow and ice, making for treacherous driving conditions with more weather on the way. Spring storms bring freeze/thaw/freeze conditions, essentially turning I-90 into an ice rink.

US 2 Stevens Pass is now closed between milepost 55 and 85 because our plows are not able to clear the road due to illegally parked vehicles at the summit. If you have selfishly chosen to block our crews and first responders, come move your car off the highway. @wspd6pio

US 2 is currently closed at MP 55, 9 miles West of the summit and at MP 85, at Coles Corner, 14 miles West of Leavenworth, due to heavy traffic and severe winter weather. There is currently no estimated time for reopening. No detour is available.
