Glasswing is a bad precedent with the best of intentions. 1. Anthropic is actually concerned about safety. 2. Glasswing is oligarchy. We’ve been living in a really great period where everyone gets to use the best models on the planet. We are now entering a new era where we start to treat these models as too powerful for common folk. If your business isn’t a billion dollar multi corp then you really aren’t important enough to have access. I do think anthropic is doing things in accordance with their concerns, their mission, and their beliefs - I just disagree that the result is what they want. What anyone wants. Centralized planning doesn’t work. Software isn’t just made by mega corps, but my millions of people around the world. I make software, but I’m not big enough to qualify for Glasswing, so, I’m just supposed to get pwned? Honestly…Elon was right. You have to distribute ASI. It will be messy and painful but it’s the only way to get to a better place where we aren’t living in a defacto oligarchy.
