Well, let's tall about the time I met Bjarne Stroustrup. I'll be honest, the man has some opinions. And they are exactly as based and unhinged as you'd hope for the creator of C++.

New security advisory published for Zen C, this time it was about a stack-based buffer overflow in identifier mangling. CVE for it is CVE-2026-33491. As always, move to the latest version, in this case v0.4.4. Here's the link for it: github.com/zenc-lang/zenc…

@asgphil At this stage, hope seems to be required. Let's hope that hope actually works this time.

@zuhaitz_dev Yes but to be honest, I never expected Trump to have a plan for anything. You? I mean tell me one thing he has done with a proper plan. It's how narcissists work, fully controlled by impulses. No self restraint. I just hope that Israel and the US turn this into good strategy

I am the first one against terrorism, I will condemn all terrorist acts coming from Iran, or other groups, says ISIS, Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, ... Truth is, and this has been said by US officials, that many of these groups have been helped directly and indirectly by our allies, such as the US itself, for their own interests, such destabilizing countries like Syria and get cheaper oil. My main condemnation to this war isn't about fighting terrorism, it's about getting in a war with important global economic consequences (that could kill tens of millions of hunger if this extends for more weeks), under an administration that seems to be unable to define the main objectives, as the discourse changes every day. My condemnation is about a war that, while might carry the benefits you describe, seems to be rooted on foreign, irrational, influence. And truth is, if Iran wanted, they would have a nuclear bomb already in all these decades. Now, finding that your director of the Counterterrorism Center (among other officials) deny that Iran was an imminent threat, tells me that, by using Occam's razor, it is more provable that the risk was lower than expected than half of the government were traitors and lied to the country and the president. So that's my issue. Besides that, I definitely agree with you in most points.

@zuhaitz_dev Iran, on the other hand has spent a lot of money to destabilize states in Europe. like funding islamist groups and preachers. also trying to build terrorist cells. Has happened in my country in germany a couple of times but in others too. so personally I am pretty glad.

@asgphil Perhaps, although with this dynamic, now I'm afraid that countries will realize that without a nuke you can be attacked, with one you are not (see North Korea). This might be the start of a proliferation that hasn't happened since the Cold War.

@zuhaitz_dev Yeah they should've had a proper plan. but honestly, I think Iran would've just lied during the deal and continued to develop nuclear weapons in secret. I think that is their ultimate goal and they would do anything to achieve it.

This one is from earlier today (translated, the original is below). I have been writing for years, yet I never learned how to break the ice, how to reach the very womb of genesis on paper. I have tried countless ideas, but I always falter; I am not one to offer my words under contract, nor in the hope of one. I squander my words, scatter them across every page, out of sheer selfishness. Writers—which we all are from childhood—do it for a reason, even if the act itself is the very engine of such a sin. I know of people who write to die. I know of people who write to live. There are those who find chastity in the act, while others find orgasm. I write to ask, not so much to find an answer. In the beginning, as a novice in my craft, I would ask directly. How naive of me. Over time, one realizes that the best questions hide naked, without the need for formalities imposed by language. For it is the answer that is a slave to vision, and with it, to rules... While the question is immaterial, and its apparent garments are mere shadows from Limbo. Within the greatest affirmations, ages of questions can lie hidden. Questions are dust; they can be invisible, yet eternal. Answers? They die with humankind. Answers, with any luck, momentarily cover up the eternal questions. In a sea of questions, find the answer within your vessel. It will offer a good life, and when it perishes, it will sink back to the depths of the matter. But, as long as the raft stays afloat, ask, and answer. The enigma itself does not always have the option to ask.

More like because the US attacked a country that was not an imminent threat while they were negotiating with them. And now here they are, it doesn't seem like they have a real strategic plan besides burning ammunition. To me, it seems like they thought this would take a few days only. I think we can agree that Iran is definitely not a saint while we can also criticize this senseless war.

@zuhaitz_dev but common. The Director of the National Counterterrorism Center steps back because the US attacked the country that built up the most terrorists (probably in history)?

@linux_version Of course! And there are many other factors such as corruption for example... This doesn't change the point that we can waste over 10 billion dollars in a week when this could be invested on better things (say world hunger, like the original meme, or something else)

@zuhaitz_dev If you could stop world hunger for 1 year for 10-20 billion then that's well within the power of the other ~180 UN members. It won't happen because they want the US to pay for it and, of course, complaining is always easier than actual problem solving.

It is funny when you know this meme is often used for things such as solving world hunger. As a reminder, in the first week of war with Iran, the US has spent over 10 billion dollars, without achieving any strategic goals (goals that don't seem to exist either). With that money, the UN estimates that you could stop acute starvation globally for over a year. Now, we could argue whether or not that's doable, but even if takes double the amount, it seems like a better investment than this war which is taking innocent lives from both sides.

@zuhaitz_dev I agree with Europe first, but I think all this would be in Europe's interest. The difference on opinions we have is based on purely speculative predictions of the results of different actions. It is extremely healthy to consider different approaches. :)
